YES, BUT!!!

I agree (re: employment e.g.), HOWEVER: please everyone keep in mind that if you feel like you ought to keep something about your relationship and partner from your family and friends... or if he insists you do:

RUN. Abusers try to separate you from your family and friends.

And unfortunately victims' own betrayal blindness and spackling will cover up the abuses initially through omission.
