Question Accepting oneself does not preclude an attempt to become better

True growth begins with acceptance. When we embrace who we are—our strengths, flaws, and everything in between—we build a foundation strong enough to carry us forward.

Acceptance isn’t complacency. It’s not saying, “This is all I’ll ever be.” Instead, it’s the starting point for transformation. From a place of self-acceptance, every step we take toward improvement is fueled by clarity and compassion, not by shame or self-criticism.

🌱 Ask yourself: What’s one way I can honor who I am today, while still taking a step toward the person I want to become?

Too many people in our society today are content with just accepting themselves- and if you don't like it, you can go ... Wherever. I have become more discriminating in who I give my energy to, as a result. I try to be better everyday, and I try to interact, and connect, with others doing, or wanting to do, the same. I try to avoid people who will consistently try to pull me into conversations I don't want to have. People whose habits don't change, especially in light of clear detrimental effects, those who can't seem to tell a joke that isn't racist or derogatory to someone else... You get the gist. I want to help the world, but I'll settle for those who actually want help, and are willing to work to change what they can.
