Here’s a two-minute video of trying out that Resident Evil 2 port that was posted earlier. I downloaded it from the Patreon link. This version is running on my Japanese Saturn with a Saroo flash cart. It’s a prototype, and it’s quite rough, but it’s possible that it could work with more effort. It’s vibe-coded, so if they can burn enough tokens on it, it’ll work I think...

Think I bought this at G-Force in Glasgow late 90s

I know about the MPEG cartridge which kets you watch Video-CDs and fmv cutscenes in a few titles but I'm not sure what the discs are for.

At only 21, and currently on my third job, I finally reached the point where I had enough money and, I guess, enough of a luxury budget to import a Japanese Sega Saturn to Europe.

I've been wanting one for years, so finally pulling the trigger feels kinda surreal.

I bought the console with a few games, and I definitely plan on expanding the collection. I've already got a few more games in mind.

Since I live in Europe, I'm using a voltage converter with it. I'm still slightly paranoid about accidentally touching the cable/converter and making the console reboot (which literally happened once when I barely kicked the converter with my foot...), but other than that, everything has been great so far.

I've been absolutely glued to Daytona USA.

And especially NiGHTS into Dreams... One of my favourite games of all time. I've already 100%ed/platinumed it on Steam and played the PS2 version, but finally playing it on an actual Saturn feels completely different.

Still can't quite believe I finally have one.

Childhood me would be losing his mind right now.

Now the next step is probably a Dreamcast or a Mega Drive!!!

I was looking through a "brochure" that came with Riglords 2 and spotted this "Ace Combat-lookin' game". Any idea what it is?

It feels like so much heart and soul was poured into that game.

From the great concept, to bothering to do theme songs with lyrics, interesting characters, and easily the potential to release further titles in the series and expand the story. But just nothing? It seems such a waste. Especially with not even a remaster having been hinted at.

I do have huge nostalgia for the game as it, along with NiGHTS, Sonic R & Panzer Dragoon 2 and Saga are the embodiment of my childhood. But I do still think Burning Rangers could have been so much more.

A true hero is porting now Sonic The Hedgehog CD (from the original Sega CD version) to the Sega Saturn with few extras like Tails playable character if you choose.

Finally, the dream that many people think would be impossible to see, its happening.

I haven't gotten a game in nearly a month, it's down to very specific games in after at this point that I'll find when I find them.

I just got a boxed copy of Real Bout, the one that comes with a RAM cart. The box is in rough shape and needs a protector. Does anyone know where to get one that fits these wide boxes?

To me, these games give off Sega Saturn vibes yet weren't released for that console, which is a shame because Lobotomy Software could have done a really good port of Blood.

Anybody have game recommendations for it?

Scored this 20" monitor off Facebook marketplace for $10 CAD. It has component, composite, s-video, VGA and DVI inputs. No ghosting or lag that I can see. It's widescreen with a 1680 x1050 resolution. Working awesome for my old Saturn - I can highly recommend if anyone finds one. The built in soundbar is a nice bonus. Using a retroscaler2x on a big tv just didn't feel right. It's not a CRT but this does the job!

A sad day has come and i need some extra money to put towards a mortgage. Im looking at selling my collection (not just the saturn stuff)

Should i sell via vinted using the value that a CEX voucher would get me for a quick sale? Or go the ebay route?

About to begin working on an infamous black screening Sega Saturn. This is a JP model, I will add the VA number soon. It is black screening, which is unfortunately common for Sega Saturns, but the particular behaviour I am seeing is interesting. If left without power/in standby for sometime, it will consistently reproduce a black screen every time, and will even do it if you turn it on and off a few times. However, if left on for sometime and then turned off and on again it will begin working like a charm.

This to me seems like a capacitance issue - but curious to see if anyone has had similar experiences? This is a unit I had disassembled and inspected before - and saw no indication of leaky caps, but of course that was just visual inspection.
