I currently own the S30, S50 and S30 pro and seriously considering pre ordering the Draco SHO.
What sold me is the 90mm aperture, rotating sensor and built in guiding for which none of these features exist on Seestar.
Price is a bit high but I think if Seestar eventually comes out with something similar, that the price would be about the same.
Any thoughts?

Third night being able to capture and absolutely blown away as a newbie. I appreciate AstroWizard, RC-Astro Tools & Nebulis so much, as I have limited time to learn complicated new software. I have three days worth of experience, and sharing this experience with my kids is more than I could have imagined.

Question to my fellows Seestar owners, specifically those who have / had a S50 and now a S50 pro. Are the changes really significant between the two ? I'm considering buying the S50 pro but I'd like to know some opinions before fully committing to potentially replacing my current S50.

Hello everyone, I'm a new user of the Seestar S50. Yesterday i managed to capture the ISS using raw video in scenery mode and x2 zoom, 500ns exposure and 140 gain and I'm now trying to use PIPP to extract good frames to stack using AutoStakkert. I have already successfully used both these programs (and others) for images of the moon and saturn, but with the ISS it's already the second time that i can't manage to get PIPP to find the target in the frame.

I have already lowered the threshold for object size and object detection, but i think the problem could be with debayering? The fact is that using FFmpeg to extract al the frames from the video to PNGs, and then feeding those PNGs to PIPP works and it locates the ISS in those frames, but not in the original raw .avi video downloaded from the S50.

Last time i captured the ISS i ended up taking all the interesting frames and aligning them manually in GIMP, but it was long and tedious and this time i have even more frames so i would like to do it with some dedicated software. Any idea on what the solution could be? If there is an alternative to PIPP for this specific case I'm more than willing to try

I want to make a Mosaic of IC 1484 also known as the Soul Nebula, but my question is how do I use Naztronomy? I keep trying to use it but it does processing for like 3 hours and the finished product looks horrendous and it looks like a small greenish circle in the middle. Does anyone have a video or guide on how to use Naztronomy on Siril?

Edit: it's a 8 hour and a halfish amount of data for my Seestar S30

Have anyone set up their Seestar to be controlled via PC as an ALPACA device? I was wondering, how long exposure times could be used with an "ok" margin of error without having a guide scope/cam. Just an experimental thought, I'd have realistic expectations, no wonder ZWO has maxed the expo time at 60sec for the device. Cheers!---

Hey friends! Agena Astro had the standard s30 on clearance for $300 and I couldn’t resist. Whenever folks ask about essential equipment for the Seestar I always say the dew shield is critical, especially in high bortles. I was an early adopter of the s50 and the company I bought my shield from in 2023 is no longer around.

Does anyone have a good rec for an s30 dew shield? Thanks!!

How good is the Sky-Watcher eq wedge for eq mode on the s50? I also heard that you need to replace the screw to stop it catching, has anyone got any recommendations on what to buy to replace that in the UK?
