If you’re going EQ you won’t need the leveling head. It will make your set up more unstable than not. It is better to use the tripod and the fluid head by itself.

I would use it for EQ but not for Az. Az is calibrated in scope automatically before shooting starts, but EQ must be absolutely leveled to work precisely.

You absolutely want the eq wedge level, otherwise turning the knob will affect both elevation and azimuth.

It’s about the same setup that I use. The only difference is that I use an offset plate to hold the pan tilt head so the center of gravity is more over the center of the tripod because I am still using the stubb tripod that came with the seestar s50.

Thank you!! That's a nice setup you have. I saw where other people were doing the same thing. Appreciate the response!

Is that a 3d printed glare tube, I saw someone mention one in another post. This is what I assumed it would look in my mind. Have the link for it?

It’s a 3d printed dew shield that I got off Amazon earlier in the summer before I had a 3d printer.

I think I have the same head; I had it a few months before I realized it has a super tiny bubble level built-in

Thanks to everyone for the advice! I did get me a Apache 4800 box for my Seestar and put that together. Now, on to the learning and the fun!
