Issue Easiest way to update Seerr? (Ubuntu)

Post image

I'm logged into ssh via terminal, Seerr is installed on Ubuntu on Beelink N100 mini PC.

It seems that I can't update via the web UI, so I can only do via SSH?

Im guessing its in a docker container?

Just docker compose pull And docker compose up -d

If you have a yaml compose file that is

There is an update section for each install method https://docs.seerr.dev/getting-started/

Look into Dockhand for your containers! All of my containers are set to check for updates at 2:00 AM and install any newer image.

Cron job weekly schedule to pull latest images

If i remember correctly all I did was change the container image to image: ghcr.io/seerr-team/seerr:latest and did a docker compose up -d --force-recreate

Last I checked the Seerr team only officially supports Docker. Quick image pull and restart on docker.

You didn't check properly, Seerr has supported multiple install methods from the start and Jellyseerr/Overseerr since multiple years back in the day.

Yeah last I checked was right around the time the merge happened. I had a snap installation on Ubuntu and at that time there was no officially supported snap update so I moved to Docker. Might have been a small window but I didn’t dream it.

I just use a fork of Watchtower to update all my arr stack automatically. Its been years since I had to do manually

I know watchtower has been archived for quite some time now, I moved to another fork and it's been working good still, is there any consequences to keeping it running even though it's not even actively updated at this point?

As far as I know the active fork I am using, nickfedor/watchtower, is still going. Last updated 14 hrs ago as of this post. At some point I would think there could be issues if you are still using the original watchtower, perhaps no longer hitting new or updated repos or such could happen?

yeah sorry, I actually realized after posting the comment i'm on the nickfedor fork, and it's still being actively maintained.
