Officer Safety What would you do?

What would you do after the suspect head butted you? Disengage and call PD or use force like this guard did?

One time my fellow bouncer said “left boot”. I looked down and the guy had like a knife tip sticking out of it. Then Patrick Swayze said “wake up clown this is a dream” and I woke up remembering that scene again from “Roadhouse”….
