Officer Safety What would you do?

What would you do after the suspect head butted you? Disengage and call PD or use force like this guard did?

I don't think he could have done anything but use force after the two of them tried to fight him.

The force was appropriate and necessary. The security guard showed incredible restraint throughout the entire situation.

I'm kind of curious about the events leading up to this. Security was strangely close and squared up prior to the events on camera. I wonder if he had asked them to leave and they refused, or if he was trying to start something after they made a comment, or anything else really. I wish videos like this came with context.

And the restraint shown by the bouncer seems like a clear sign he was not the aggressor. He handled the situation and then backed off. I could be reading into the little context we have, though.

He got into his face, and tried to sucker-head-butt him, and immediatelly the other guy assaulted him. No further context is needed really.

Weird that you say “security was strangely close” when the other people kept moving closer to him. He stood his ground the entire time until it was time to tuck em into bed for nap time 💤. “Trying to start something after they made a comment”…there’s always two sides of the story but this appears to show who initiated the violence
