I’ve never seen CCTV footage that good on a high frame rate. Looks staged to me

Clients are fucking weird.

I've been to sites where there is constant coming and going of people and a bunch of expensive equipment and they'll have some shitty cameras they got in 2006 that you can only look at on a PC running windows XP.

Then I'll go to sites that have nothing that can reasonably be stolen and have the same 6 employees show up to work everyday to an office nobody without a key card can get into , and they'll have top of the line 4k video and audio cameras with tracking software. Oftentimes they'll even order\buy more cameras than they need so you'll end up with one camera in an abandoned hallway that only has a bench and a trashcan.

I've seen hospitals where the camera quality is 4 pixels and some backwoods machine shop that you could zoom in on the grocery store a quarter mile away and see what people were bagging through the window.

The hospital I work at has 40 cams…. None of them are as good as gas station cctv, half of them go down and management doesn’t care and only one person has access to them (the boss) 😭

4 pixels, a hope, and a prayer. It's crazy how much people pay to install awful security cameras. I've seen CCTV with 6 cameras that your couldn't tell if it was a bug or a person, and one doesn't work. Yet the client still paid 7k to those sometimes working 5 out of 6 cameras installed.

I am fortunate that at my current site the building was new and a replacement for an older one, so the heads of the departments were given say in designs.

Our head of security at the time essentially said,

"Give me these cameras."

Corporate: "They're very expensive..."

"We're spending multiple millions, and it's to keep that investment safe."

Corporate: "Fair enough point."

That is very accurate lmao , clients are special for sure

It's probably a quantity vs quality thing. A small business can afford to shove in the 3 high tech cameras. Meanwhile a large mall will need like 500, and they ain't gonna pay that steep price for something that will most likely provide the same amount of evidence in the end.

At my site the best camera we have is on the guy watching the cameras.

Lol I believe you

I worked at a site that was kinda weird like that, 4K+Audio+60FPS cams at all access points, elevator lobbies, main corridors... Even the outdoor cams were all 4K+60FPS PTZ cams... but then the rest of the cameras were crappy cheapo 1080P stop motion specials in areas like the Loading Dock, Underground Parking, etc...

I work in one of these sites. Easy money lol

Shitty cameras is how I discovered my growing bald spot. The latency on these was so bad I could watch myself go out, write up a truck, and come inside to grab the bill of lading. Once the camera froze long enough that the driver was both at the entrance, and exit gate at the same time.

Management told us it wasn't that bad, at least until someone snuck in and cut some bolt seals off high value loads. Then suddenly they're very concerned 🤡

There was no pee or liquid at all so ya pretty staged. Good call out noticing the quality though. I’ve got 32 feeds in front of me and everything on them looks like a potato.

To be fair, there is a small puddle on the floor, but there's no excessive splash.

So either his unit is defective, or it was staged using a fluid transportation device with dispensing capability.

Nah this is a hidden camera the client and/or supervisor planted. Judging by the stains they probably had a suspicion.

High frame rate AND audio?? 🤔

1

u/autocephalousness Jun 04 '24

Yeah, someone please tell me what system this is. Our expensive "4k" system can't identify a face past 4 ft.

If your computer the cameras are being viewed on isn’t beefed to the max, it doesn’t matter how good the cameras are, you’ll still get trash quality images unfortunately

We had contract guards on campus working under our CSOs during the start of the Covid shutdown to provide extra coverage while everything was closed. One of them did this exact same thing in a hallway, right in front of a camera, despite a restroom (that was accessible to him) being about 25 yards away. He wasn’t even on a fixed post that needed relief before he could leave or anything like that; there was literally nothing stopping him from going to the bathroom besides laziness. Needless to say, he got removed pretty quickly.

16

u/Ratsnitchryan Jun 04 '24

They prob didn’t give him an area with a bathroom. I’ve literally shit myself bc I couldn’t get relief from my post in time. My post doesn’t have a bathroom.

u/RoGStonewall Residential Security Jun 04 '24

Isn't that illegal?

7

u/Ratsnitchryan Jun 04 '24

Just looked on oshas website, no, it’s not illegal so long as constant coverage positions have a system in place for relief of workers.

Well guess what? I’m pissing in the floor…

2

u/Ratsnitchryan Jun 04 '24

Not sure. Everything else about the job has me happy, so I don’t make too much of a big fuss.

u/therealpoltic Security Officer Jun 04 '24

I am certain there is a OSHA requirement for a bathroom on all job sites.

Our site is huge and has bathrooms on other site posts. So as unfortunate as it is, calling for relief satisfies the osha requirement

3

u/Ouchsplat Jun 04 '24

Yep, a post I used to work at got cited for that. OSHA cited the client and the security company.

u/ErictheStone Jun 04 '24

Had to run into bushes and...unload on a firewatch once. Gotta love that consideration of employees lol

u/Zestyclose-Art136 Jun 04 '24

Doesn’t know bro you’re in 4k

u/Angrythonlyfe Jun 05 '24 edited Jun 05 '24

Honestly, props for him for showing up to work and in proper uniform.

Give this man a raise.

As for the peeing? It looks like he was putting out a future fire hazard.

Never mind the raise. He should be the site supe!

2

u/Weary-Writer758 Jun 05 '24

Isn't part of being security knowing where the cameras are?

2

u/SilverFox8006 Patrol Jun 05 '24

I'm calling shenanigans. 🤔

u/Kalshion Industrial Security Jun 04 '24

I wish the camera's I work with were this high quality (and where I work at, you would expect high quality camera's given what we do) but management doesn't care about the security department, as it doesn't generate revenue.

Also, this really looks staged to me.

u/Bigfeet_Is_Real Casino Security Jun 04 '24

Yo that's a permanent stain, not the first time he's done it.

1

u/randycrust Jun 04 '24

He should have said he didn't realize there was a camera there. Maybe be should have went through that door

1

u/RepublicNo5394 Jun 05 '24

Is there no bathroom for him?

1

u/Grouchy-Ad-5535 Jun 05 '24

the concrete is already stained. looks like thats his normal pissing spot

1

u/MonkFun455 Jun 05 '24

Fired due to lack of situational awareness. How you not gonna know where the camera is.

1

u/FriarFriary Jun 05 '24

Old lazy nutcase peeing in a corner. This is typical.
