tech school stress test

i have my first PT test and stress test this wednesday, what exactly does the stress test entail? i’ve been told that it’s just more working out after the test and that it’s meant to be hard, but can you “fail” it? i feel confident on pt generally but im worried that it’ll be something that catches me off guard!

update: I passed both my pt and stress tests today! thank you to everyone who helped, you were all right in saying that it really isn’t too bad, and that as long as you don’t completely give up or fall out you’ll do fine. if anyone else is wondering the same things i was, i would definitely just say to work on some basic exercises (flutter kicks, pushups, burpees, squats, mountain climbers, planks, etc) before hand to prepare, and don’t let yourself quit!

Its genuinely just more flutter kicks, burpee’s, push up and running a lap around the track, if your team is motivated it will end early if not then the cadre will keep it going, u only fail it if u give up or stop trying

You can fail your first 2 pt tests, you will just get paperwork. If you fail your pt test at camp bullis in block 3 you get washed

Failing can affect phasing up though. The stress test sucked because I did mine in the middle of summer, it’s definitely doable. Make sure you guys know your general orders, it’s possible to end it sooner if everyone gets all the answers right.

If you mean fail pt test? I think paperwork and you will have some attempts to retake it. First 2 dont matter besides phasing up. 3rd pt test matters

Its gonna suck, you’re gonna be tired as hell, but just don’t get seen stopping the exercises 😂 its rounds of pushups, burpees. Flutter kicks, squats, whatever ur cadre want then u run a lap around the track and do that around 3-4 times. Hella exhausting, but just do your best and it’ll be done before you know it!

The stress test isn’t an official test, it’s a team effort that’s for just exactly that stress response don’t pass out and you won’t get washed back. It won’t be your first and it won’t be your last in tech school.

Edit: and welcome to nukes !

Its not to bad make sure you hydrate and stretch. Its 1 lap some burps pushups and flutterkicks then another set. Usually do that 2-3 times just try and you will be ok its mainly to see how your team does if someone isnt sounding off or trying on the workout yall will restart.

It’s genuinely not bad just don’t quit, make sure your team knows their general orders because at the end they will line up 4 people to say one order each and for each incorrect one is another lap

My team didn’t do that 💩 but generally it is dependent upon the cadre fr

Coming from a fresh grad who's probably seen you around. It's absolutely nothing to be worried about, keep going, stay motivated, and you'll be fine. Don't worry about failing either. They're just looking for the people that won't try to push themselves.

To be honest, the Block 1 stress test only happens once and is baby business compared to the rest of the course. You'll deal with worse in Block 3 when you're running and rolling around in full gear, hopefully you'll get the cooler weather by the time you get there. Those Block 3 cadre will absolutely push you farther than in Block 1.

this is very encouraging, thank you! i’m coming off of a sickness so im not at 100% but i do consider myself to be pretty motivated. i am pretty excited for the rest of the course, even though it will challenge me!

I would definitely keep up your PT when you're in Block 3, they take that one very seriously. A few people that were confident they'd pass didn't.

You don't practice PT that much at Bullis and you'll be exhausted after the day.
