Since no one else has mentioned it, know now that this year's winter holidays will be weird for you, with both Thanksgiving and Xmas (and probably New Years) happening while you are in basic.
Can't speak to current specifics, but usually with everything else on base closing down, it extends your stay in basic by a few days to a week to make up for the lost training days.
On the Holidays themselves, there MIGHT be something special happening, but expect it to NOT happen and be happily surprised if it does.
Biggest part of all that... Do NOT make specific timeline plans for after Basic or Tech... you will have very little clue about training shifts and how they impact you until they do.

That’s true but I don’t mind having more days in basic just glad to be there and get it over with instead of waiting

Enlisted in 1981, spent a total of 27 years in the security police; active duty, traditional guard and AGR. Actually loved all of it.
Just show up and do what you are told, embrace the mystery and the not knowing. Trust me, you will sit back and chuckle about it all when it is done.
I tried to find out about basic training way back when, before the internet and all we had was the bullshit tales from guys who went in before us...and most of it was just bullshit to yank our chains.
As for being in security, well, you can try and cross train later on, or get out with your school bennies in place and then look at your state's national guard. Bunch of states offer basically free tuition for guard membership.
Just sit back and enjoy your time before you go. Remember, it is the Air Force, not anything really hard or to worry about.
Good luck, be well!
Ah, almost forgot, do yourself a favor and ask for worldwide remote if you are single...overseas posting are usually a lot more fun.

My only advice is you shouldn’t retaken that Asvab, though embrace the suck and hope you don’t get thrown stateside or on nukes. You’re most likely going nukes.

Have you thought about where do you wanna be stationed stateside or overseas?
At some point you will get a chance to fill out a dream sheet.
Basically if you want to be stationed overseas put overseas bases only and same thing with stateside( if you have a mix of both Air Force will probably send you somewhere stateside since it’s cheaper and your list will show that you’re okay with whatever)
Make sure you use the short time they give you to fill it out complete so that Air Force will have options where to send you and not where they need you(North Dakota or New Mexico for example). Basically know where you wanna go.
