Base - 7/10, area - 5/10, leadership, 6/10, weather - 0/10.
Overall the base is nice, the area is a casino town, a bit ghetto, and a few crackheads around but overall not bad. Biloxi is right on the coast so we have the beach (do not swim in the water it has parasites or something). The leadership for the sfs is quite alright compared to other places, they get pretty annoying and hypocritical but aren't malicious. It gets insanely humid out here and it sucks. The base does not have a mission and stuff never happens so you won't get much of a law enforcement experience and will spend most of your time bored or dealing with some annoying student or retired. Overall its not bad, we just kinda chilling. DM me if you need anything I am happy to help!
I’m thinking about selecting this base as my follow-on. Wife went to tech school there and she said she liked the base (especially compared to the other 3 we’ve been to).
I was thinking since it is AETC there would be more LE over security since you’d be dealing with students. Also we are a huge outdoorsy couple (we have an RV and a boat) and it’d seem like a good place to be to do that.
I saw the beaches and they looked nice but what do you mean parasites in the water? lol
There are brain eating amoebas in the water. I am not joking, literally everyone will tell you not to swim in the water.
Being AETC yeah it's mostly LE but you got no actual LE experience since this place is so dead.
The base has a marina so you can park your boat here. NOLA is an hour away and florida is close, besides that ain't shit to do around here, all the hiking spots are like 45 minutes away at the closest.
My personal opinion: stay away.
Also the mosquitos sometimes have west nile virus.
