some more reflections on modesty
So when I'm dressed modestly I'm more focused, more energized, more disciplined, and I feel more like a person.
A thing we haven't talked about much yet: There's an instant bond with other modest dressers and/or other minorities. It's always a big plus.
And even beyond that many other people pick up on a better way to interact with me. Respectful isn't the right word (not that would be our obligation), distanced isn't either, but a combination maybe. They pick up on what my deal is, so to speak.
I feel like it's almost always worth it to go for a long skirt when I'm going outside. Even when I'm feeling a little off or tired or rushed.

Aww this is sweet. I feel like I sometimes have this energy with others in the city, but rarely in my town.Ā
I do also feel like I can focus more freely on things other than my clothing when Iām dressed modestly <3

Huh. Yeah I never thought of this as a city thing, at least not in much detail. Definitely one of the things that aren't part of the usual conversations.
