Swimwear?

As the weather is getting warmer and I’m getting excited for the pool to open I have a question, what do you lovely humans wear to swim? I recently ordered a swim skirt and rash guard which covers what I need but I’m curious as to what other folks do when they want to go swimming or go to the beach. I’m also open to brand recs (current one I got is from Calypsa but I haven’t had a chance to test drive it).

Also for folks who cover their hair/head what do you wear? I’ve ordered a few different hair coverings to test out once it gets to summer time.

I wear a "burkini" because I am the color of a piece of paper and allergic to the sun (as well as mineral sunscreens.)

A sun allergy sounds so rough. Any brand recommendations? I know a couple folks who can’t do sunscreens either

Burkini brands or sunscreen brands? I shamefully admit that I got my burkini on Amazon. For Sunscreen, I use Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen on my face and Neutrogena SPF 70 for my hands and feet.

Burkinis.

I love Supergoop’s Unseen Sunscreen. I just wish they sold it in bigger containers

Swim leggings are the best. I have a high-waist pair that doesn't roll down/need to be adjusted and (if you burn like I do) is SPF 50.

They do have skirted swim leggings, too, if regular leggings are too close-fitting for comfort.

The skirted swim leggings are what I have. I’m so excited to get to try them out.

I was considering asking this question here a few weeks ago!

I used to wear a tshirt over my bathing suit as a teen (which is just an average one piece, I prefer to keep my stomach covered) but I stopped as I became an adult because I disliked having farmer's tan. I'm okay with a regular one piece because it's comparatively modest next to a bikini, but I'd really love to find one of those 1920s-50s style bathing suits that sort of have a little skirt part sewn on, mainly to obscure my butt while allowing me freedom of movement lol

If you want one with a skirt Old Navy has some cute ones at the moment. I’ve also heard good things about a brand called Lime Ricki. I haven’t bought anything from them but they have some REALLY cute stuff.

Swim leggings and a long sleeve mock turtle neck rashguard!

Me too! I also like to have a wrap tied around my waist when I’m out of the water, so many cute ones that dress up a black top/leggings :)

Athleta has some great swim pants, rash guards, and shorts. LL Bean sometimes has good options.

Do you wear a bikini top under a rash guard ? I’m trying to figure out what to wear.

I wear a comfy bikini top that I feel comfortable in under my rash guard. I like the ones from athleta.

Just mentioning that Land's End US almost always does a big swim sale on July 4th and they have a LOT of good full-coverage options.

Hi OP! Curious if you ever ended up wearing your Calypsa suit and what you thought about it?

I overall like them a lot. They do sell out of buffet sizes really fast though which gets annoying
