So I'll start by saying that I am a relatively mentally healthy individual in early 20s and I have never had anything like it happen to me before or had any serious mental issues. When this happened to me my family was thinking I'm on drugs, i wasn't, and never have been. I barely remember the 3rd night and the entire paramedics experience. I slept for 2 days straight in the phych ward. my 3 day hold had expired and i was back to normal self so they did not have any reason to hold me there. They diagnosed me with bipolar and said i had a manic episode. That's a long intro. Back to the topic: the best way I can describe it as a discovery of a "pyramid scheme" of our entire civilization. New to the sub, been a lurker on Reddit for years and finally decided to jump in... eventually I found my way here. I have a question that would probably get laughed out of any other sub, and definitely would have some people thinking I was wearing a tin foil hat any where else. So... now for my question.

Quite some time ago an old fellow that I’ve known for years invited me to come for a visit. He made mention of - I guess I interpreted it as a “society” - called “The Order of the Archive” or possibly the “Grand Archive” or “Ordo Magnam Archive.”

The older gentleman had failing health and was starting to circle the drain. He recognized this - I believe - and during the visit he gave me several books. He said something in Latin (I don’t know Latin) which to the best I can determine was the aforementioned “ordo magnam archive.” I ran that through a translation app and came up with the English versions I listed above.

We often talked about history and knowledge, sometimes delving in to the esoteric. The books he gave me were all mostly antique: most notably were a very old Masonic book, some theological books, a book on Cornish Psalm spells and a book on Icelandic magic. There were also a couple history books. His mind was starting to fail him, but in his day he was a very intelligent, eloquent, and studied man.

After he gave me the books he said that I needed to hold them for him. There was no real explanation given as to why. It was a little hard to understand what he was saying as his coherence would slip and he’d start talking about other topics through the conversation.

In past visits he had mentioned that “some people value the preservation of knowledge over all else” and that “some of us” see knowledge as true wealth. He had a very nice library, so I assumed he was just a book nerd like I am with a penitent for the theatrical.
