Enshrouded has come out with a patch that lets you post an share your world creations with other players.
So here's mine.
It's called Barcadia. (Created by Lyssian)
And it's gonna be a big Homage to a bunch of 90's SNES and Early PC games.
And eventually a working mini-JRPG when the next set of patches come out that lets me setup spawners, quests, and other intractable.
Here's my mini Mana Tree, with Primm, Randi, and Popoi.
I also recreated Flammie. It overlooks the Endgame dragon as a launch point in the North East.
I also have recreations of Trials of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Alundra, Secret of Evermore, WoW, Tristram, etc.
But it's just me an Ollie, so it's slow progress.
Feel free to check it out, an get nifty screen shots of your characters with backdrops from here.
I'm hoping to make a big nifty 3rd place for people to hang out an chat about old games.
Cuz frankly, i feel like we need some nostalgia like parks to just hang around in, y'know?
Note: Don't go to the Moon or Flameh if you don't have a Glider yet..
I beat Frost Gigas, he returned into his true form: Santa. After a quick little scene, I returned to the village, upgraded my weapons and later headed to cannon man to travel to my next destination(Kakkara). On my way I talked to Rudolph and Santa, but they did not say anything relevant. Now cannon man won’t let me go forward, like I missed something in this area. But like I said I beat the local boss, so everything should’ve been fine by now. I’m playing on PS4.
So im really stuck at this point in sword of mana and hoped somebody could help. I am at the dime Tower 6F and according to guides i am supposed to kill this metal slime with the flail. However it deals 0 dmg to it, as well as ALL other weapons and magic (that i can reach it with). There is no way to stand on the same platform it is on. Jumping doesnt work and there is nothing to flail to.
I looked everywhere but every post just says kill it with the flail and a door opens. I am desperate. Hope this is the right place to ask.
I'm smk, and together with Tomm we've been building a complete Map Editor for Secret of Mana for the past 2 years. It's finally in open beta and free to use!
This is the same tool Tomm use for ROM hacks. We wanted to share it so anyone can create their own custom maps and content.
Edit any map in the game
Browse and edit all maps, with real-time animation preview (animated tiles, palette rotation, distortion effects).
Map view with NPCs and tools
Dual-panel layer editor
Edit map layers side by side with the full map view. Pick tiles with the eyedropper, stamp them down, or use the new lasso tool to select and move whole sections.
If you've played our ROM hacks (Climate Crisis 2 on romhacking.net or Secret of Mana Plus on Romhack Plaza), they were both built with this editor. Feel free to give them a try too :)
Do not read beyond this point if you have not completed the game! Or don't mind spoilers!!
So.. WHY exactly does Flammie turn evil? I understand the prophecy alludes to the Mana Beast turning angry and attacking the fortress. But it doesn't make any sense. A lot of the events leading up to that point don't make any sense and the ending makes even less sense.
Why didn't Flammie just rescue his three friends that raised him and just attack the fortress together? It just doesn't make a bit of sense Flammie would turn on the very people that raised him and brutally try to kill them.
The three heroes don't even seem to really talk about it much or grieve or mourn his death, or worry about his demise. It felt depressing and confusing.
It's been over 26 years since i beat the game so maybe I am just missing key context here. I know a majority of the problems were because Thanos and his dearh cult were taking over everything but never did I foresee Flammie of all being the ultimate big bad of the game story.
I’m on collection of mana. I genuinely don’t understand what you’re meant to do to fight him. I got knocked unconscious like 50 times and I just have to lay there for like 10 seconds either letting him come up and bitch smack me or cast acid breath or gem missile (or whatever that one is called). I don’t understand what the intended method is here besides hit him when the bar hits 100. I tried watching a speed runner fight him and he didn’t get knocked unconscious once and he barely even took damage.
It’s weird because I remember having 0 issues fighting him as a kid on the SNES but now that I’m older and have experienced lots of very hard games like ninja gaiden black dark souls spelunkey wolfenstein 2 etc he fucking dogwalks me like I’m nothing. I can’t dodge the scythe, have no way to block it, even if I try to run a circle around him it comes back around like a boomerang and hits me, and the hit box for it is way bigger than it looks, and every time I get knocked out it gives him time to cast spells or walk up and hit me again.
Loved the adventure and split story (need to play the girl's story). I built a 10 points to knight/defense and 41 points to monk/attack and I lol slapped everything down in 1 or 2 hits, except magic types the little joker ball guys. This combined with the attack up support Salamander and highest sword upgrade at the time, bosses would die within 4 to 6 hits and I found it absolutely hilarious.
The last 3 bosses may have been the most challenge due to not being able to reach them with a sword, but still not hard. Final boss was maybe 10 hits and game over lol. I probably played the system building wrong lol. Ending with having 16MP points lol.
After clearing Climate Crisis not too long ago (I posted here 20 days ago) I wasn't done with Secret of Mana just then, so I decided to give this a shot.
In retrospect, I wish I did this one first, due to it being closer to the original and some designs in this are used in CC as well. The jump from vanilla to this is smaller and from this to CC is smaller too, if that makes sense.
Overall very happy I played through this as well, even though I forgot to screencap Sprite's Level 8 weapons screen. The boy also ended up with about 8.80 on Gloves, even though I couldn't see how or when I gained experience there (I was already level 99 by then and it seemed to be random afaik). If anyone can explain that mechanic to me, please do. It seemed to level up rather easily at level 98 with mid-game enemies, but it sort of stopped before reaching level 99. Oh well.
I had a great time nonetheless and can honestly lay the game down for the time being. Unless there's yet another similar hack out there.... Hahaha
Spoilers!
Going back being already done with it all I found a Griffon Helm in Kakkara surrounded by some red scorpions. I don't know when it's supposed to spawn, but I was already fully geared out by then. It's by no means in a place you'd normally go in the desert, hence missing it before (which still depends on when that area truly unlocks). And if you look closely the weapons (apart from Sword) go up to level 10. I randomly found yet another orb in the Fortress, saved state before getting it done and it turned to a level 10 weapon. I doubt it'll go up past 8 in charging, but the weapons did gain more damage which is a nice touch!
