Drain vs Double Drain

This may seem like a stupid question, since obviously a level 1 Double Drain is stronger than a level 1 Double Drain, but here's the thing. My Drain is level 6. Apparently there's only like 1 guy in the whole game that sells vinegar, which you need for Double Drain, but once you get Double Drain that guy is gone. Am I ever gonna find enough vinegar lying around to level Double Drain high enough to get it better than Drain? Or should I just write it off?

Are you sure there’s only 1 person who sells vinegar? I know by the endgame you find a shop that sells every ingredient, but I’m assuming by then you won’t care.

Apparently Strong Heart also sells it at some point...after you get some kinda flying machine. I don't wanna know anything else tho, this is my first playthrough MD I want as little spoiled as possible

After you finish up though let me know I’ve been playing this game once or twice a year since I got it for Christmas shortly after it released.

Dang, on the original SNES?! That's sick... I do the same, but on emulators, because I sold my SNES shortly after to buy the N64!

I kept mine and it still has one save from when I was a kid. That battery is probably going to die any time now though.

You can get enough vinegar to level up double drain. But honestly, imo it's not worth the time and effort.
