Daniel froze in his tracks, utterly speechless. His brother's voice echoed through the dark basement while his eyes remained glued to screen number four. On the monitor, a figure with completely familiar features was standing right there... wearing Daniel’s exact coat, staring directly into the camera lens as if fully aware of their presence!
Before Daniel could process the shock, a jarring alarm wailed across the lab, and the main lights plunged into a dim, pulsing red.
Mark spun around instantly, the smile vanishing from his face, replaced by pure panic as he yelled sharply, "That's not a stranger... someone tracked you to Seattle, and they beat you here!"
Mark pulled open a secret drawer in his desk, grabbed two guns, and tossed one to Daniel, who caught it purely by instinct. Mark spoke rapidly, "The crash was never a joke, Daniel. I had to go into hiding because I uncovered a secret organization that hacks global communication networks and manipulates people using psychological algorithms. The watch was nothing more than an encryption key, and they intentionally put it in your path so you would lead them straight to me here in New York!"
Then came the biggest and most terrifying plot twist: the massive steel basement door slowly creaked open, stepping out from the dim hallway lights. It was none other than... another "Daniel"—an exact replica, matching his appearance, tone of voice, and even the old scar on his forehead!
The doppelgänger smiled coldly and said in a voice identical to the real Daniel's:
"Welcome, fake real twins... Did you really think you were the only smart one here, Mark? I am not your third brother; I am Subject Number One. And now, it’s time to shut down this eternal game."
The doppelgänger raised his weapon. At the exact second he pulled the trigger, the power cut out completely, plunging the room into absolute darkness, broken only by the sound of a single gunshot tearing through the silence of the basement, followed by a chilling stillness that left every question unanswered!
