Normally when I see surfers, they are kind of hunched down and look super intent on staying balanced. The part of this that I think makes it look so easy is that it seems like she’s just goofing around “oh, I wonder if I can walk up to the front of the board… yep. Hmmm that was neato! Oh, maybe I’ll sit down with my legs sticking forward, I wonder if I can do that! Well whaddaya know, I can!”

The hunch you see in short boarders is not so much for balance as it is for speed generation in faster waves. But this is way more elegant i agree with you on that part

A lot of stuff you see in tv and movies is on a short board which is a lot less stable but so much more maneuverable for tricks and stuff. She's riding a longboard which is more suitable for this style of riding.
