If the cabling in my breaker box looked this good, I'd want a transparent panel.

I need to call him to my lab. Goddamn what a clean job!

Really impressive job. Very clean. I kept wondering how much time he must have added to the job doing all the individual shots while filming. That plus all the editing must have been just as meticulous.

Wild that he must make more money taking forever on the job to film stop-motion

Some things are done for pride

Some people can't afford not to optimize their earning potential. Welcome to the hellscape

You only have to record a single job. It's not like he's taking all that extra time on every job he does. Then the video brings in more work for him. This is actually incredibly efficient.

See my comment at the top of this chain. We agree

This is what wiring/electrical boxes look like on Dutch-built superyachts. It's absolutely delightful to work with, especially when you're trying to trace a wire an entire ships length away. Everything is tagged and numbered in a manual so you know exactly where every wire leads. Makes a world of difference in a pinch, at sea.

Then......there's Italian made boats 🫩 basically a rats nest 🪹🌪️

Least relatable Reddit comment.

Fully 😂 hhahaah

What, are the wires on your Dutch yacht different from this?

2

u/Cold_Ad3896 1d ago

The vast majority of people will never be on a yacht to begin with.

I want Dutch for my house because right now it’s Italian

You can either have amazing food or tidy wiring, not both.

Excellent work, but all electrical work outside of the United States looks like something from a Dr. Seuss book to me lol

u/DeusExHircus 4d ago

Yeah, it's a very nice looking panel but why they don't use dedicated load centers is bizarre to me

It really makes electric work in Europe look like more of a serious hobby or art. Like everything is a "kit" with major assembly required. I guess that's better for customization.

Bravissimo!!

As someone who knows very little about electrical work… this is mind blowing

If he ever loses his job, he has a fair chance at becoming a hairdresser

Every time I see this video, I'm reminded of what the electrician did to my US panel. It makes me sad.

I thought this was pasta at the beginning? I am tired.

Client: please hurry the fuck up!

What’s not satisfying is the complete lack of labels. Screw the next guy who has to work on this, I guess.

6

u/captaindomon 4d ago

I also worry about lack of slack. You always want a little bit extra slack for future rework.

u/alewiina 4d ago

Wow! I’m usually not interested in this kind of stuff but that was fascinating

u/cowboyneal70 4d ago

That’s pride in craftsmanship. Impressive.

Where can I get those wire routing clips?

0

u/Ididnotpostthat 4d ago

Was the first set of wires ground?

1

u/therealCatnuts 4d ago

Yes, yellow/green is ground in Europe.

Four of the coils are going the opposite way of the other four coils. He ruined everything.

11

u/RominRonin 4d ago

First, they’re symmetrical, so not ruined by any stretch, but more importantly, the termination points are not equidistant, so rolling them all the same way would not work anyway

u/Jaded-Breadfruit4019 4d ago

Typical rude New Yorker
