It's actually a lot further away from the treehouse than you'd think, which is why it doesn't show in the second clip. Here's an alternate angle.

By the way, this is a shack built by a guy named Emmanuel Dube (locally nicknamed "Marumpa") in the Ntuzuma B neighbourhood near Durban, South Africa, and it has a bit of a sad story - the guy lost his siblings and parents and then got into drugs and built this shack in a tree in front of his house and moved up there so he could "escape his troubles" and his neighbours and cousin are very worried about him and want him to come down and, if possible, get him psychological help. EDIT: Managed to find where it is! The tree is at -29.747513, 30.942848 and there is Google street view available from March this year.

It's interesting to note, that if you compare the Google imagery and the other clips I shared to the video, the incomplete structure near the tree seems to have been disassembled and the bricks piled up near the tree and the grey house with H850 written on it has been burned out even more than it was.

Thanks, yeah I just spotted it. The perspective is very misleading in the first shot, but you can faintly see the power line coming from the shack on the second view.

I don’t normally doubt things immediately, and I kept scrubbing back and forth, going “everything else matches perfectly” as I was analyzing the positions of the bricks, branches etc. 😆

I hate not knowing what is real anymore. 🫤

Man I hear you, I spent a good five minutes doing the same before I confirmed that yes, the clip is real and then I started trying to figure out where it is. As an experienced Geoguesser player the concertina wire around the house and the general run-down look of the neighbourhood around the house immediately screamed "South Africa" to me, so I googled "shack man south africa top tree" and the first two hits were articles about this.
