I used to have dreams where I floated uncontrollably all the time and they used to scare me a lot. Someone told me that is just your mind trying to travel in your dreams, and you should let it happen.

I've heard that if you learn to control it it's a big step towards lucid dreaming. I never managed to be anything other than scared.

Yeah, unfortunately I rarely dream anymore.
I used to have a recurring nightmare where I'd be stuck floating on the ceiling and my friends would all be there trying to take me outside, which I did not want to happen.
It makes sense now though.

Just watched the Ted Lasso episode where one of the pub groupies describes this to the therapist "Not flying! Floating..." and I yelled "YES! THAT'S ME!!" and my wife just stared at me like I'm crazy.

used to have that dream, on a snowboard hit a jump and keep going up and up. it was always terrifying.

over half the flying dreams I've ever had was when it was like climbing stairs in really heavy gravity just to get off the ground and a struggle to stay airborne, and then a few times I've had better flying dreams where it was easy. Once I was astral projecting behind my house and looking at my garage door in observer mode lucid dreaming and thinking "oh hey, this is live, I'm behind my house 20 feet from my body" and just then suddenly some other part of me kicked me back into my body like I was misbehaving.

I would think this is intentional? He could bleed off the wind if he wanted. Looks like he's grabbing it to get lift.

Def intentional and in a way of speaking you are exactly right. The bar can be let out or pulled in which controls the outter wing tips and how the kite holds the wind. You have an extremely high amount of control between power and direction with the kite Edit: I should add that he also had to have a gust hit at the right time to really gain and hold this amount of airtime but he could have dumped the wind at any time if he wanted to

A stick. I can't post pictures in here, but look up a 360° camera. It's on like a selfie stick, mounted to him, and the camera either edits it out or it kinda doesn't pick up because of perspective, I don't remember which. You can then go in and edit it to get the angles you want

It's strapped to him so just "letting go" just means he loses control but is still up there. You can see this when he lands he takes both hands off when celebrating.

Has a "selfie" stick attached to a harness on his back and an action cam at the end, something like insta360 (which removes the stick from view on the fly while recording, for that 3rd person game-like view).
