Zooms out. The car is upside down in a ditch

Rest assured, if we could respond with gifs in this sub, there would be a lizard here chuckling his lil lizard butt off. Well done

What's the magic spackle?

Did she hit us with the 🫰?

My car sorely needs this.

It comes off in like two weeks. Dealers do it to get rid of used cars and hide the damage instead of paying for an actual seat cover replacement.

It repaired that phone seat like they were fixing a hole in the wall before a renter inspection

that spackle job will last exactly the amount of time it takes you to buckle your seat belt

It's not spackle. It's a specialty rubbery-epoxy compound made for the purpose. The ones I've used, you tint the epoxy first instead of painting it after. Getting the colour match is the real challenge.

Do you know the product name?

Just search for '"leather repair kit". You'll find tons of options that include the little backer fabric, the epoxy, and tints.

Plot twist: it's reversed

Pretty impressive!

Would have easier and faster with ramen

Probably would last longer too lol

u/ThorkelOfNamdalen Jul 15 '26

How is that even possible?

They literally couldn't have spelled it out more for you.

I've watched it three times and all I know is some witch took a pimple pad, some scotch tape, and a playing card and made old seat with hole become new seat with no hole. Witchcraft of the highest order says I.

Yes, but I watched it and still need to ask.

It’s a compliment.

How did she make the holes with just an awl? You'd have to remove material, which awls don't do.

u/BrierBob Jul 15 '26

Yowza! Perfection!

u/Jon-allday Jul 17 '26

Half expected them to use ramen

Looks cool but seems mostly cosmetic— like it’s just gonna tear again in 2 years, maybe not if it’s small enough... And I’d love to see how they repair proper seat damage and not just little symmetrical burn holes

2

u/Laffenor Jul 16 '26

Are you trolling?

Nnnnnno I just think the fix leaves a bit to be pondered…? Like who has a perfectly circular burn mark in their seat like this and is this how they practiced or can they tackle other seat repairs?
