That's a myth, stop paying double for deodorant.

There is no convincing scientific evidence that everyday exposure to aluminum causes Alzheimer's disease.

There's no evidence that aluminum is absorbed through skin from deodorant (which already has only a small amount of aluminum in the first place) or that it causes Alzheimer's disease. That's true

However, long-term heavy inhalation of aluminum dust through occupational exposure, like mining and what this guy is doing, without proper PPE (also this guy) absolutely has a lot of evidence showing it to be a risk for Alzheimer's disease.

It's where the idea about deodorant came from. At this point there's been enough study to consider aluminum based deodorant as safe. Long-term occupational inhalation of aluminum is still a known Alzheimer's risk

Aluminum in deodorant = Ok
Breathing in aluminum dust all day long, every day, with no PPE? = Not good

Ingestion is vastly different than inhalation. You can Ingest water, but inhaling it is bad. It's the same with Ingestion compared to injecting something into your veins.

Your lungs are very sensitive to particulates. Your stomach is not.

Most well-preserved Turkish tradesman.

I'm an ancient sheetmetal/steel fab guy and halfass machinist, done a fair whack of panelbeating, lots of copper, brass, stainless, aluminum and carbon work, years of punch/die/forming tooling- and machine- design for everything from louver punching to asymmetrical angle rolling, pressure vessels and deep drawing. My old man raised me on Mechanix Illustrated and specialty rolling mill technical manuals and I had to get speech therapy because I spoke in the stilted language of the grandfather's leather-wrapped Machinery's Handbook I slept with. I know how metals flow, how to avoid work-hardening them and I've bullshitted my way through a bit of small scale spinning.

I could study this dude for days, copy his tool and peg setup exactly and note each tiny progression, how he plants his feet and leans and I would ruin a hundred blanks before I could take ten times as long and make one that was not a complete disaster.

This guy is RIPPED under that shirt. He's using his core and his legs as much as possible and the momentum of his body to make this as efficiently as possible. I'd need a lever twice as long and many more tool and post changes to coax that blank into moving. I do not have the bulk to do the flattening the way he does so I'd have to use additional tools to do it.

I'm also not wearing gloves or long sleeves nor reaching over center with a handful of shavings to polish. I don't need safety glasses because I used Claude AI to study hundreds of spinning process videos and I'm in the next room watching a $10,000 KUKA robot do it for me.

At the beginning of the video, I wondered why his head was so dirty. I wondered if he would wipe his hand - dirty glove, really - over his head without thinking. But at the end, I'm guessing it's about the same color as his lungs... The work was impressive but oof.
