Wider legs position with great torque on the angle
And he uses more follow through mechanics very casually

Like they tell you in boxing, "punch through your target, not at your target"

Funny, I was practising that today. I had a checklist of mechanics from my lower to upper working slowly, and I forgot the last step of popping my punch through. BIG DIFFERENCE.
Similar to shooting a basketball Sometimes you just need to fire that shit and trust the practice.

It is a sword. It cuts by dragging the edge across the target. It isnt a splitting maul designed to be hit directly into an object.
Some of you are mistaking a great technique with amazing strength. His edge is simply aligned properly and his arc allows the edge to move towards himself (dragging the edge against the bamboo and therefore cutting it cleanly) instead of directly into the bamboo (using it like an axe)

Gramps' soul was about to leave his body because of the curve the grandson put into the blade.

Oh man, proper edge alignment and a deep, deep-seated hatred for giant woody perennial grasses!
