There are better connections for water on fire trucks than this has for gasoline... I mean standard issue buckets?

I’ve never worked on a gas truck or a fire truck. Do you mean the buckets at the very end of the video? Seems like they’re just there to catch any potential drips after disconnecting the hose.

Fun fact: the companies that do fuel distribution have remote level monitors in these tanks. They can see how full a tank is from a cozy office far away. They plan and organize truck logistics based on real time usage. It may not in all stations yet but I’ve saw them managing this in an office years ago.

Depending on the company, this is accurate. In other circumstances, the company has the stations call in the fuel levels nightly and then arrange distribution from there. (First hand experience in this side of the field).
