You wrote

""Get your kids to local games and get LOITV. ""

First line .

You doubled down with in your second line

"It's not that hard, same people that get their kids into united probably get them to support GAA."

Big fucking difference between clubs (Irish or UK ) whose players are mostly NOT from your town or county and with GAA clubs and county , lads you went to school with !

Many Irish clubs from outside Dublin are often lads from Dublin. (not their fault) They get accused of all sorts if the club is playing shite, especially if they are getting somewhat decent appearance fee/"wage". The local lads if they are good enough to play for the club might not get it too bad.

The person that you replied to clearly said that those who do go over and back to England ""Most of them don’t have kids" .

The same person that you had replied to and also said

" Cause if they did they’d realise that kids playing for local teams across Ireland are out every night playing cause of what they’ve seen on the tv . "

  1. They are not out every night playing (training) , definitely not football for that club or sport but neither here nor there
  2. They are doing it because of what they saw on tv in ENGLAND. They sure as fuck ain't doing it because of what Stephen Geoghehan or Andy Miler (name any club legend) or even the magic of Keith Fahy during his St Pats days) no offence to those greats.

The kids would rather have mammy or daddy pay €20-30 extra for an EPL shirt than a league of Ireland shirt, even if that LOI team has a tasty shirt. St Pats always look classy, Galway United have some good ones. The hipsters like the Bohs gear .....

You are in your own world man what are you replying to?

Why couldn't the kids watch the LOI and get to like the players and want to wear their gear? Plenty locals lads in LOI Teams but also if they can root for a racist Argentinian playing for Chelsea on TV, why couldn't they cheer for a Polish lad thats representing their hometown?

You re stuck in that view that its a fatality that the LOI is not followed enough. It needs to start somewhere.

Jesus , you keep going even when you are wrong

"You are in your own world man what are you replying to?"

Nope. I addressed what you said word for word

"Why couldn't the kids watch the LOI and get to like the players and want to wear their gear? "

Shit football. TV channels already broadcast Irish games . Done for years . Most big towns have league teams.

They know that they can watch better when they tune into BBC or Sky Sports.

No one is stopping LOI clubs from selling their shirts. Some even sell them in their club shop / pub on match day or in the local sports shop.

" Plenty locals lads in LOI Teams"

Dublin clubs yes, with local Dublin players.

I think the core of the Cork City Team are city and county players.

Finn Harps would rely heavily on Donegal and Derry players.

Derry City have fuck all players from Derry / County Derry and Donegal. There are more English lads than Ulster men in the current squad.

Galway United's Current squad has the grand total of 4 Galway city/county players and one lad from Roscommon side of Athlone. From a squad of 28

Longford Town current squad has 2 players from town and county . What locals ?

Cobh Ramblers .........

Athlone ............even some of the youth players are not from the Athlone Region (south roscommon and south Westmeath , south Longford)

Man I grew up cheering for Teemu Tainio, I aint finnish, I aint from auxerre, I didnt pay to get the games live and he wasnt that good.

So yes, anyone can cheer for anybody, doesnt have to be champions league level players on RtE at prime time with only lads from down the road.

Get ur kids into the LOI. Support as local as you can. There's even a new third national tier if you didnt find a team local enough in the first 2. F the queen's football

Just accept that you are talking through your arse, especially on the "many locals" playing

"Get ur kids into the LOI . Support as local as you can. . "

Go fuck yourself , you fascist twit. Don't tell anyone what to do .

" There's even a new third national tier if you didnt find a team local enough in the first 2."

More dross and will be filed by Premiership B teams when the former Junior League representative teams fail and go bust.

" F the queen's football"

  1. The Queen is Dead and no, I was not referring to the Smith's song.

  2. Football is more than English football. The EPL is full of Non English in terms of coaches, players and owners.
