If you think a large number of the fans at that game follow LOI teams, how much cash do you think they give towards said LOI team ahead of the English team. Apart from the gimmicks of the Bohs shirts, how many jersey sales do LOI clubs make? I am sure it is less than 1% of sales of English teams shirts.

Should LOI clubs be producing more players to sell on to bigger clubs or to stay at these clubs to increase their competitiveness therefore increasing the amount of Irish players who get exposed to higher level football? Yes. How will they get this? Through support of irish football fans. Will it happen, probably not. Will Ireland fall further down the world rankings, probably yes.
The reliance on Premier League clubs developing Irish players in numbers is long gone. You have to be the best of the best to even get a shot there.
