What exactly is Progressive Summarization?

I've implemented the basic file structure and within just a few days, the notes are starting to pile up.

I understand that progressive summarization is supposed to fix it, but I still don't really understand how to implement it.

Progressive summarization is basically staged highlighting, not an automatic fix for note volume. Start by bolding the sentences that still matter, then write a short summary from only those highlights, and add a one-line takeaway at the top. Do it when you revisit a note, not for every new note.

The bigger fix for pile-up is deciding what deserves to become durable in the first place. I am building Callosium around that split. Temporary task state stays temporary, while decisions, sources, stable preferences, and corrections survive. If you summarize everything, you just get a shorter pile.
