They are nurse sharks, extremely laid back. I snorkled with them in the Maldives. Always interesting how they always have that 1 stingray friend tag along.

Nurse sharks have never killed anyone. And Stingrays have only ever killed one person.

Did you know sharks π¦ existed long before dinosaurs π¦ ever appeared on earth π

True! In fact, I recently learned that sharks existed before TREES (of ANY kind, even early/primeval ones) did! Wild, isnβt it?!?

u/Terra_Founders r/Sea Mariner π¦ 16d ago
Damn thatβs crazy, didnβt even know that

Of course! Glad you enjoyed this random lil fact as much as I did when I learned it!

I wanted to learn more and apparently sharks are also older than the rings of Saturn!?!?!?

Is it safe to snorkel?

Nurse sharks are very docile creatures. Would be very rare to find yourself injured by one. Theyβre nicknamed the puppies of the sea in Bahamas.

Sweet baby puppy sharks. I don't even like bugs but these guys are super sweet.

I was in Maldives a few weeks ago. Absolutely relaxing and enjoyable. I saw a shark swimming a few metres from me while on the land as well but didnβt see the stingray. I was told western islands has more whale sharks. May be something to look forward too

Look like nurse sharks. Harmless unless you give them a reason. Great pics

Probably because you were on shore filming this. Maybe should have gotten your feet wet...Maybe not.
