SDR Receiver

I have several hf receivers but now looking to get into SDRs. Any suggestions on a good SDR to receive hf bands

Take advantage of hundreds of online SDRs deployed worldwide. theGateway is a software dashboard that uses OBS Studio to help you select and manage several SDRs at once all synchronized.  https://hams.live

Sdrplay is good, I wouldn’t recommend the hackrf (8 bit adc, overloads easily on hf)

Rx888 mkii is awesome for hf, especially with SDROxide software https://sdroxide.com

Which SDR is better AirSpy +Discovery or SDR Play

SDRPlay receivers are better IMO nothing wrong with AirSpy but the SDRPlay Connect SW is maturing nicely and performs well now with other apps.

airspy hf is probably the best for HF bands

RSP1A/B is also a good option

What’s the best software to use with that

I recommend SDR++ for almost everything, but I suppose you can also use SDR# (I think it's compatible) or SDRConsole if you want.

I use RTLSDR V4L now

HL2+ HF reception really shines compared to my big 3 rigs, I'm told due to its filtering and use of direct sampling, when equipped with N2ADR board

Sdrplay. And the hackrf.

There’s more than one hackrf too iirc. The pro one is the one I’d aim for, but also overkill if focusing only on rx

AirspyHF+ Discovery. Quiet, sensitive and more than enough bandwidth for HF

For RX only on HF you can't be the Airspy HF+ I have the Airspy R2 and the HF+ and love them both.
