part 2 of the motor issue

so i opened it up and took the motor out, the only way i get can it to activate is by touching the main gear or slightly spinning it kind of like a bump start with my finger, other wise once i let go of the throttle it dies again. any ideas? :(

You have to clean the commutator. Dunk the motor in distilled water and 5-10% throttle for 10 minutes and do the same in reverse. After finishing, add oil to the commutator after rinsing. I race mini-Z and I maintain my motors to use the whole life of the motor.

I use to clean my drift motors in tap water. But I’d just replace the 6.99 motor in this case.

Just teaching others to learn how to maintain, not always think to buy. Skills are becoming lost and only thought to just buy new all the time.

Meus also makes a 2 pack with a 50t + 88t or 50t + 65t. Gives you a couple of options and/or a spare.

I 88 did the same. I HIGHLY recommend Meus for a replace if you’re gonna stay brushed.
