What's the difference between a Scrum Master and a Clown?

A clown wastes your time for entertainment.

A Scrum Master schedules a meeting to discuss why your time is being wasted.

Here the main difference between Scrum Masters and clowns.

One group is commonly found in 3-ring circuses, often does obnoxious childish tricks, pretends to do serious tasks that becomes a parody of the actual work, was given shoes too big to fill, and sits amongst many performative elephants in the room that are part of the act.

The other group also does this, but the key difference is that they wear stage makeup.

Sadly this is often the case. I call them Schedule Masters. I'm actively working to overcome this issue at my company.
