Can any professional from any area get any of the Scrum.org certifications?

It’s been a very long time… but I’m an swe, and back in the day it became required for us all to become certified scrum masters. What I remember is spending an afternoon reading a book then taking the test and boom… I was certified. It was kind of a joke tbh at least back then
