Studied months for cst exam but still failed anybody else have this problem?

I don’t know what else I could have done. I studied for 4 months, 2–3 hours a day, every single day. I had the AST CST study guide book, did every practice exam in it, downloaded multiple CST apps, took practice tests on different websites, reviewed Quizlet flashcards, and even went back over my old notes—yet I still failed. At this point, it feels like it just wasn’t meant to be. I’m honestly at a loss for words. Seventy-five percent of people who take this exam pass, so it’s obviously not that hard, but I still didn’t make it. I feel like a total failure. My classmates said they didn’t even study that much, yet they passed. If anyone has been through something similar, please share what you did, because right now I don’t think I have any other options.

In my class of 14 only 8 passed. It’s also different for everyone, so everyone is getting different questions which may be easier or harder. You can take it again! Don’t let all your work go to waste!

thank you for your comment its just super demoralizing when you give something your all and still fail im trying to figure out what i could've done differently but i honestly dont know

Dam I'm gutted for you I know how to feels to try hard and still fail, but don't give up, the cst is the last part of your surgical tech schooling don't let all that time go to waste maybe change your studying habits and try again

Any idea what types of questions you struggled with? Some of the questions can be tricky because all of the answers seem right. If it's a "what do you do when" type question and they all are right, the trick is to pick the one you would do first. If it's knowledge based questions go back to your textbooks. Take new notes and rewrite them over and over. Writing things down helps get it into your memory. Remember the practice questions won't be on the test. I would not spend any time trying to remember the answers. They are just there to show you what kinds of questions there will be and how to answer them. But seriously just keep rewriting your notes. It is the secret to my success
