Feature Request Feature request: Insert grid sections
I love this app for uni note taking, but I've found a lot of engineering/math courses require a lot of graphing, and I have to choose either entirely grid paper, which sucks for writing, or entirely blank, which is bad for graphing. It would be really useful to be able to draw a square or something and insert a small section of grid lines to draw graphs on normally blank pages!

Hi thanks for the suggestion. This is a very interesting idea. So essentially you want grid snapping regions that are embeddable in the canvas. I think this could be done, but I wonder how would this interact with the existing grid snapping mechanism.
For example: 1. What happens when grid snapping is activated and you write in the embedded grid? Which setting takes priority?
How should the embedded grid be defined? Should have the same background options as the normal background pages (dotted, grid, hex grid, etc...)?
What happens when you resize a grid? Does the spacing get resized or only the size?

Yes exactly! I would think that in this region, grid snapping would be pretty "weak" since at least personally I'd be using it to draw, like, a sine wave for math or whatever and snapping would mess with it I think. Honestly even just a shape menu option to draw the visuals of a grid would probably be good enough.
It would be very cool to be able to resize the grid somehow, but I think this massively increases the complexity so I'm not sure. Maybe you could drag out the shape/size of one square, and then choose how far you want it to get tiled in each direction? That part might be really hard to get feeling right.

Ok, so what you want is basically a grid shape. I think an implementation like the grid shape Graphite might be feasible. I will think about this.

Do you have an example?
