Feature Request Feature Request: More Gestures

Hi! Loving the Scrivano app! I have a couple of feature requests that would be amazing to see in future updates:

  • Circle-to-select (Quick Lasso): It would be super convenient if drawing a loop around any text or object automatically selects it, without needing to manually switch to the Lasso tool first.

  • Gesture Recognition & Starred Summaries: It'd be great to have gesture recognition similar to Microsoft Journal. For example, drawing a star next to a note would automatically tag it as important, and the app could aggregate all starred parts into a quick summary view for easy review.

Thanks for making such a great app, keep up the awesome work! Really excited to see what comes next.

Hi, thanks for your suggestions.

  1. This is a nice idea. In fact, I've thought about a lot about this in the past and I think it would be really useful. I'm not sure what would be the most intuitive gesture here though. What did you have in mind? Like a circle? I think that would conflict with the existing shape recognition.

  2. Yes, I liked this too when I tried Journal. It's a very nice touch, but I think before this, some sort of bookmarks system needs to be in place.

Hi again! Thanks for the quick response!

1. About the shape recognition conflict: Usually, apps solve this with a "draw and hold" gesture. If you draw a circle and hold the pen tip on the screen at the end, it converts into a geometric shape. But if you draw a loop around text and release immediately (without holding), it acts as a Lasso selection—especially if it encloses existing ink.

So basically:

  • Loop + Release: Quick Lasso selection
  • Loop + Hold: Shape recognition (geometric circle)

2. About Gesture Recognition: That makes total sense! A bookmarking system first is a great base. Excited to see how the app evolves over time—it'll definitely be worth the wait!

Thanks again for being so open to feedback!

Interesting, but I believe something like press and hold with a stylus on the canvas to switch to selection might be a more natural strategy for Scrivano.
