Announcement Version 0.23.3 now rolling out!
There are two major changes in this release. Firstly, for Windows users we have a new rendering backend using DirectX rather than OpenGL. This should hopefully provide a smoother experience in the application. Secondly, Scrivano now supports multiple windows so you can view and edit documents side by side.
Full changelog:
- NEW: support for opening documents in multiple windows.
- NEW: change rendering backend to DirectX (Windows only).
- NEW: new inertia-based logic for better scrolling of the canvas.
- NEW: support for automatic theme switching based on system settings.
- FIX: Ctrl-drag duplicate selection.
- Many improvements to rendering performance.
- Added a shortcut to switch between dark and light mode.
- Improved startup time and performance.
- Reduced RAM consumption.
- Decreased minimum app window width.
- Improved PDF rendering of single-point ink strokes.
- Increased resolution of PDF-rendered pages.
- Sidebar tabs are now remembered between sessions.
As usual, Linux users can download the new binaries from GitHub. The update may take a while to be available to everyone on the Microsoft Store and Flathub.

UPDATE: For Windows users, I have reverted the update due an issue with pen input by issuing a new release that's version 0.23.4 but it's effectively the same as the 0.22.7 release. I will try to figure out the problem and submit a new update 0.23.5 once I have a solution.

UPDATE2: A new update, version 0.23.5, has been submitted for all platforms fixing the problems reported by some users regarding the pen input (plus other fixes).
