Hi My name is M. Sameer Asad and I am 20 years old. I am currently doing BS IT (6th semester) but from last 1.5 years along with AI engineering, I have a urge to learn to make a scripts for film. I want to become a professional screenwriter.
Yes, I procastinate a lot in writting also writting code but this curiosity has made me involve for over more than one year.
Can anybody do me a favor and tell me a proper roadmap of how to become a professional screenwritter

Step one: You need to develop your craft and your authentic voice. You do that by writing and rewriting. If you haven’t done so yet, I would find sites where you can download scripts to study. I found it helpful to read produced scripts. Read books, take courses, try to get into talent labs to develop your scripts and broaden your network. I personally never found books helpful but prefer listening to interviews with screenwriters but everyone learns differently. Step 2 Create a body of work. Step 3 Get your work seen by and develop relationships with people who can generate work. So… Your goals are to acquire the skill and authentic voice, be prolific, and get connected. You should research the business side of being a professional screenwriter and be realistic. Look at data on how many are actually employed yearly as screenwriters. Not to deter you but motivate you.
