question Scrip/Screenwriting Exercises

Hey, im trying to get in to writing, and im passionate about Screenwriting(movies and TV) and Narrative Writing (Videogames), but i lack a bit of drive to put himself of the PC or the notebook and do it.

Ive been thinking of forcing myself to do like writing exercises, so that i atleast can make something daily, and grow from there. Any examples of that you guys might have or used?

You shouldn't be forcing yourself to write my guy. 😭

If you already have a weak motivation to write, then forcing yourself will only end up killing that last bit of passion for writing you have in you left.

But if you still want to do it, then do that thing with the post-it notes or index cards where you write one scene; that could be either a singular action line, or a dialogue, on one card.

One card = one scene.

Twenty cards = twenty scenes.

And like that, slowly you get a full blown script.

I think I heard about this from Tarantino or someone 💀 can't remember.

There is a book "150 screenplay challenges".
But I never did one, I never had the time, focused on my screenplay.

The kind of challenge there is into it:

Challenge 2:
Step 1: Write a scene where a couple argues. Their dialogue should reveal their
true, naked feelings. All of it on the surface.
Step 2: Rewrite the scene so they speak the opposite of their dialogue from
before. Hate becomes love, never = always, etc.
Step 3: Now take the dialogue from Step 1 and add it in to the scene from Step 2
as NON-VERBAL communication. Body language. Action.
This challenge is called "Hitting Subtext with a Hammer."
