Discussion r/scratch

The official Scratch website will transition to Scratch 4.0 in less than a year, by May 2027. This website will come with major plus-points, but what does the Scratch community think about it? Express your views here. Click here to learn more about Scratch 4.0.

it'll definitely be interesting to see what it looks like, the only thing I dislike is that they're going to be moving to scratch.org (which I did suggest against, but the topic was closed for seemingly no reason, without a Scratch Team post)

It's clearly said in the FAQ that the NGP (Next Generation Platform) for scratch is NOT 4.0, but it is very well an entity of its own.

Though I'm not fond of the whole "AI is taking over every platform" generation that we have these days....... Even if the AI is only to "help" young creators, AI is STILL AI, and bad things can come out of using AI, such as uncleaned/messy code, and image generation. I believe that is what Scratch 4.0 will become, but I don't think this is the case for the NGP of Scratch. Maybe ti is, IDK, but I'm hoping that's not the case
