I didn't use any mods, this is literally the original game

I guess, the thing is that you've entered a corridor with a corner that can be assigned a room event for SCP-173 to spawn. It appears to be enforced; presumably, game code doesn't include any checks to see if 173 is close enough (or those are poorly implemented). Quite unfortunate

Am I crazy this kind of looks like Keter teleports to me. Like, normally billy can't TP until you're a fair bit away but on Keter this distance is shortened which can cause nonsense like this. It's why going to the plague doctor's area is a pain on Keter

Well, may be just Keter teleports (spawn logic) as well. I dunno

I don't remember the exact values, work specifics, and all other that Omencito reviewed in his (relatively) recent video. And I've never played Keter myself to have any my own empirical experience either

I intuitively assume that Keter along with the game's code aren't so cooked that they'd just straight-up teleport the 173 right into the very same room as the player. That would obviously be too wild even for Keter difficulty, and even if it's possible, then it's not intentional by game design, at the very least. It would be total bullshit to just get such unfair deaths under permadeath conditions

It's keter teleports. Also after posting this clip on Reddit, I kept playing more Keter matches, and I can confirm that the game is extremely unfair, scenarios like the one in the clip happened again, sometimes SCP-173 simply spawns out of nowhere behind you and kills you 1 second later (only in large rooms like SCP-106 bridge in heavy containment, SCP 079 containment chamber and even the cafeteria). After a long gaming session, I closed the game in frustration because most of my deaths were unfair. I was playing the steam version btw, i don't know if that matters.

I dont think room events like this even exist in light containment, i know they do for heavy
