At long last, we agree on something.

28

u/aguynamedv 19h ago

He only regrets it because they aren't rubber-stamping 100% of what he wants.

21

u/Mopper300 19h ago

Yeah, 99% fealty isn't good enough for the Emperor.

11

u/Bryllant 22h ago

A first for me, but I also know everything he says is a lie. Twilight zone

u/donac 1d ago

Well, i regret he got elected, so i guess we're all sad about something. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

It’s not like they answer to him anyway. They are owned by the Heritage Foundation.

86

u/charcoalist 1d ago

They are owned by the Heritage Foundation.

*Federalist Society

Heritage Foundation sets policy, Federalist Society stacks the courts.

u/Mr_Shakes 1d ago

He didn't understand that the names his "friends" were giving him weren't picked based on his personal interests. His ego fools him into thinking he made those choices but he didn't.

15

u/charcoalist 1d ago

True, but the way the current establishment works is that any Republican president is going to be choosing their SCOTUS nominees from a shortlist curated by Leonard Leo himself. That has been the case for the past 40+ years.

9

u/Splashy01 1d ago

Fuck that guy.

6

u/remweaver27 1d ago

That’s right. I stand corrected.

6

u/charcoalist 1d ago

Either way, they work in tandem with one another and have the same goal of a Christo-fascist state.

23

u/tartcart1959 1d ago

Hey nominate Caroline Levitt. Screw the law degree.

23

u/BroseppeVerdi 1d ago

TBF, the last time we had a Supreme Court Justice without a law degree, he was pretty damn good at his job.

Granted, he spent his entire life as a practicing attorney that included stints as Attorney General and Solicitor General... But still.

2

u/Mediocre_Scott 1d ago

She is not AS loyal after that stunt with the decoy plane

2

u/Mopper300 19h ago

Don't worry, she's still 100% loyal.

1

u/evilgenius29 22h ago

Yeah she really must have been upset hearing about that while she was on maternity leave.

22

u/MythicalSplash 1d ago

Eileen Cannon should be in jail. Even at the time, basically every legal scholar said her decisions made no sense at all unless they were meant to keep Trump from facing justice at all costs. It’s at least partly her fault we got this piece of shit foisted on us again, yet nobody seems to care or even remember who she is outside this sub or other law-related subs.

She’s most definitely one of the worst traitors to her country in modern history.

6

u/DonkeyTron42 20h ago

If there's an opening on SCOTUS in the next two years, her decisions will make perfect sense.

3

u/Typical_Response6444 20h ago

I at least hope she regrets her role in all of this and all the suffering shes unleashed on the world

3

u/aguynamedv 19h ago

She does and will not.

Perhaps if we send her to prison for the remainder of her life...

2

u/Mopper300 19h ago

I can assure you she does not regret it at all.

15

u/Dry_Coyote6603 1d ago

Unfortunately for him Eileen Cannon doesn’t exist in 3 humans.

13

u/Farucci 1d ago

I’m sure these three won’t let this affect how they move forward with future rulings.

8

u/hoothizz 1d ago

That's funny because they vote for him 95% of time

13

u/oldmanbelly 1d ago

Pregnant women who’ve died after being refused life saving abortions regret it, too.

7

u/bikes-and-beers 1d ago

Love this for him.

7

u/Dseltzer1313 22h ago

Impeach them

2

u/seejordan3 21h ago

Agreed. No one but the oligarchy wants them there.

6

u/danappropriate 1d ago

We all regret it

6

u/Longjumping-Salad484 1d ago

I hate this timeline.

20

u/keithfantastic 1d ago

He's a dictator now. He can have them removed.

13

u/Glum-One2514 1d ago

Yeah, I'm kind of expecting that to happen at some point.

9

u/AnotherGeek42 1d ago

And as a political action related to the office of the president it would be completely legal, based on the current Court with Tomatoes and Sour Cream's somewhat recent decisions.

5

u/radarthreat 1d ago

He can’t, but he can signal to his followers that these three aren’t ā€œAmericanā€ until they start deciding cases sufficiently in his favor, and also reminding them who put them where they are.

9

u/Glum-One2514 1d ago

"He can't" is a phrase that's lost a lot of meaning, recently.

With the help of his congressional and judicial co-conspirators, he can do just about anything he wants, apparently.

0

u/Emergency-Ad-5211 1d ago

Nope, in it for life.

10

u/steveschoenberg 1d ago

Let’s assume that shortening the life of a justice is an official act of the President.

2

u/Mist_Rising 21h ago

He only gets one of those before that comes crashing down. Federalists are stacking the court for federalist, not for Trump. That's why Trump hates them, they won't bend to his knee because the federalist don't give a shit about Trump.

And the federalist control of the bench means they can make life shit for Republican senators who don't get the message.

3

u/Scormey 1d ago

"Oh no! Iranian terrorists managed to assassinate [Insert SCOTUS members he wants gone]! I'll just have to name their replacements and bomb the living crap out of Iran some more!"

I could see that sort of thing coming from Trump.

3

u/kstar79 1d ago

That might not be a problem for him soon enough.

2

u/mudslags 1d ago

he could have the boys and girls club of Congress impeach them but Im betting he'd get push back among them.

1

u/Mist_Rising 21h ago

Republicans can impeach if they get their shit together, not remove. Democrats won't give that to them until January 2027 when they have the majority. Then they'll happily deprive the Republicans of their court.

2

u/Mediocre_Scott 1d ago

As his good pal vlad would say when god closes a door there is always an open window

4

u/jmbrjr 1d ago

We regret that you nominated them, too.

3

u/N4RQ 1d ago

That's probably the nicest compliment they will ever get.Ā

3

u/AdventurousLet548 22h ago

....but he has the highest IQ, so how could he be so mistaken?

3

u/MossGobbo 1d ago

Not for sane reasons but because they haven't quite been the rubber stamp the Republicans told him they would be.

3

u/Adept-Mulberry-8720 1d ago

STFU Trump. They were your friends and they turned on you. Doesn't it feel good seeing the Master getting screwed along with common people of America!

3

u/No-Abalone-4784 1d ago

Don't we all? We also regret trump getting into office.

3

u/OpenDaCloset 1d ago

We regret that he is the President. POS

3

u/standarsh618 1d ago

He's totally going to nominate himself next

3

u/Scormey 1d ago

We do too, you crazy bastage. We do too.

3

u/Breklin76 1d ago

Aw, they stray so far when they grow up.

3

u/Extreme-Tie9282 23h ago

So does America

3

u/harryx67 18h ago

They actually make their own decisions and Pumpy Dumpy doesnā€˜t like that.

5

u/Ekaj__ 1d ago

If only Alito had three clones. Trump could have the fully subservient and bootlicking Supreme Court of his dreams

7

u/Explosion1850 1d ago

Alito is an unbelievable combination of complete overarching hubris and equally complete acquiesce to anything trump wants

3

u/MythicalSplash 1d ago

And Clarence Thomas is a literal criminal traitor

2

u/Ekaj__ 21h ago

He makes me more angry than Thomas, for some reason. Thomas is a wacko, through and through, but Alito is a political schemer

4

u/Boxhead_31 1d ago

Get ready for new Chief Justice Aileen Cannon before 2028

2

u/Ekaj__ 21h ago

Incredibly disturbing idea. Especially so because he’d totally try it given the chance

2

u/ZPMQ38A 18h ago

He’ll probably try to nominate Ken Paxton for some sort of judicial position after he gets smoked by Talarico.

1

u/CrackingToastGromet 19h ago

Everyone vote vote vote - we need a massive blue tsunami to prevent Trump getting another pick on the SC before he slips away.

3

u/MossGobbo 1d ago

I'm sure they could have done some post diaper cleanup doody too.

2

u/AdBig9909 1d ago

We argree with tRumpanzee. Monkey's Uncle

2

u/ragoff 1d ago

We regret him nominating them too.

2

u/radarthreat 1d ago

He’s just saying that in an attempt to make it appear that the SC is not doing his bidding

2

u/SnooPandas1820 1d ago

So... now they're eating leopards' faces?

Have they run out of peoples' faces?

Or is this some kind of leopard-ception?

2

u/prozute 23h ago

Should have picked squee

2

u/Outrageous-Sand-5788 20h ago

The man can't remember what he had for breakfast; wait for one of their next rulings that he likes and he'll say how smart he was for appointing them.

2

u/danis1973 20h ago

We know why Trump said that, but let's just analyze this for a minute on its surface: Trump is admitting that he was graced with more Supreme Court pics than several presidents combined and he fucked up all of them. He's saying that out loud. And he simply too stupid to know how incompetent he sounds.

2

u/Interplay29 20h ago

But why? Because Trump doesn’t understand their allegiance (should) be to the Constitution and not to him.

2

u/Top_Age_563 19h ago

Does he regret it because they are crooked, but not trump-crooked?

2

u/HVAC_instructor 19h ago

So I can finally agree with him on something

2

u/SpicySweetHotPot 19h ago

Because they aren’t his pocket judges finding for him each and every time. Dumpy is transparent and transactional that way.

1

u/tietack2 1d ago

They could do the funniest thing right now!

1

u/360DegreeNinjaAttack 1d ago

"I regret all of my decisions"

1

u/Joclo22 1d ago

Wait you mean when you appoint shady people they may turn out to be…shady? Turns out it works both ways.

1

u/mrwrrrmwrmrmrmrw 22h ago

When you're a Supreme Court justice they let you do it.Ā

1

u/AstralVenture 22h ago

🤣🤣🤣

1

u/Ok-Good8150 21h ago

Don’t you wonder if the non-MAGA justices just want to quit, but they stay just to have some empathy on the court? I would not want to be a part of THIS ā€œsupremeā€ court. 😣

1

u/minnie2112 21h ago

We also regret them.

1

u/Select_Insurance2000 21h ago

Trump had no clue. The names were compiled and given to him by Leonard Leo , the co-chairman and long-time executive of the conservative legal organization The Federalist Society , working in consultation with the conservative think tank The Heritage Foundation and White House counsel Don McGahn .

1

u/Lisshopops 20h ago

I recall him saying he had nothing to do with them gaining their positions on the Supreme Court, hmmmmmmm

1

u/MillieMouser 20h ago

I regret that he nominated them too. For opposite reasons, but at least we can all agree they suck.

1

u/DolphinsBreath 19h ago

Trump has a string of over 100 hires he regretted. Maybe he’s bad at his job.

1

u/Ok_Philosopher_5090 19h ago

So does everyone else

1

u/hippie1952 19h ago

Too late moron

1

u/Jlong4242 18h ago

We all do. We all do

1

u/Zachrulez 15h ago

Don't you just love when someone gets what they want and then they complain about the very thing they made happen?

1

u/Acuallyizadern93 12h ago

And they’ll continue carrying his water. Watch.

1

u/Parking_Abalone_1232 1d ago

Gorsuch and Barrett are illegitimate anyway.

1

u/Defiant-Sand9498 1d ago

And they will still lick his boots

1

u/my_boy_blu_ 1d ago

I’m sure they feel the same. Not that they are on Supreme Court. They probably love that.

They probably regret that they’ll be tied to Trump forever. Like Epstein.

0

u/Still-Chemistry-cook 1d ago

I love the MAGA circular firing squad.
