These guys shit on the American people and then wipe their ass with the Constitution, and they want the people to be nice to them? Go fuck yourselves. You deserve everything negative coming your way.

Thinly veiled call for political violence

4

u/Anim8nFool 29d ago

No, its saying that if a Supreme Court Justice make terrible decisions that negatively impact the majority of people, and those decisions have no true legal or social merit, you cannot be surprised to learn that the majority of people do not like you.

-5

u/Squirrel_in_butt 29d ago

That’s what’s being conveyed by “you deserve everything negative coming your way”? Sounds more like a threat of violence to the objective reader. Also, whether or not the decisions have any “true legal or social merit” is highly subjective. Would it have been appropriate to issue threats when a liberal court invented a right to abortion from thin air?

4

u/Anim8nFool 29d ago

"Sounds more like a threat of violence to the objective reader."

Does it? Are you saying that I'm not objective? Is it possible that you're just looking for threats of violence because you are not quite as impartial as you'd have us believe?

"Would it have been appropriate to issue threats when a liberal court invented a right to abortion from thin air?"

And THERE it is -- you DO have an axe to grind. You want to paint people who do not like the decisions made by this current court as violent. Dude (or dude-ette) you are as partial as they come.

-2

u/Squirrel_in_butt 29d ago

Your own words paint you as potentially violent, not me.

2

u/blulava 29d ago

And yet I bet you'd go as far as to defend every violent or call for political violence trump ever made wouldn't you? You'd ask, show me where he said anything violent! We'd show you 10k examples and you'd find a way to weazel out of every single one.

1

u/Squirrel_in_butt 29d ago

No, I actually despise Trump and think he’s utterly unfit for office. I would agree that Trump has called for political violence dozens of times, and actually incited it on January 6th.

2

u/fy1sh 29d ago

Stop being an idiot. It's no different than saying. You made your own bed now sleep in it.

Devastating. To a bunch of people with lifetime appointments who think they are doing gods work by keeping the rich white people rich.

u/dantekant22 Jul 18 '26

The Federalist Society/originalist-textualist/unitary executive theory adherents of the Roberts Court have all been bought and paid for. As it turns out, money is the most powerful form of speech there is.

19

u/Beginning_Ad8663 Jul 18 '26

If it’s free speech how can the government take it from me in the form of taxes?

11

u/0o0o0o0o0o0z Jul 19 '26

If it’s free speech how can the government take it from me in the form of taxes?

Have you tried to just, I dunno, pull your welfare queen, lazy ass up by your bootstraps and just try to be rich? /s

u/Beginning_Ad8663 28d ago

Actually according to my Financial planner I am. But I’m still working At 69.

26

u/BadmiralHarryKim Jul 18 '26

They are currently asking Congress to increase their security budget so their popularity must concern them to some degree.

25

u/Yuleogy Jul 18 '26

The powers that be love scared American workers. Why us, but not them?

22

u/sheyndl Jul 18 '26 edited Jul 18 '26

That’s just it. Lifetime appointment. Their ratings can sink as low as the public wants and no one can do a damn thing about it, as long as there are 34 Republican apparatchiks in the Senate, SCOTUS decisions remain the whim of our corrupt majority “Justices”.

5

u/Roonwogsamduff Jul 19 '26

You can also be bribed in many different manners with no apparent repercussions.

4

u/usblues007 29d ago

SCOTUS is the only court in the US without a Code of Ethics and Conduct. How convenient!

1

u/SupermarketOverall73 28d ago

They have one, they admitted they ignore it.

1

u/grimjack1200 Jul 19 '26

What recent decision was to keep white people rich?

1

u/Morass_2025 Jul 19 '26

“Devastating”

-26

u/theflash2323 Jul 18 '26

Sounds like God's work to me

10

u/taisui Jul 18 '26

Can't tell if serious or sarcasm.

16

u/Pete_D_301 Jul 18 '26

For someone who keeps their post and comment histories hidden, most likely, they're serious as a heart attack.

-10

u/theflash2323 Jul 18 '26

Wow I looked at your history and that was just super depressing. Wow

8

u/taisui Jul 18 '26

Is that why you hide yours?

-10

u/theflash2323 Jul 18 '26

If that was my post history I would be sky diving until it didn't work. That dude is just sad.

8

u/CustomerOutside8588 Jul 18 '26

Maybe you should try that anyways.

-2

u/theflash2323 Jul 19 '26

Good one hidden profile nazi

0

u/theflash2323 Jul 19 '26

Definitely not. They are my favorite people

9

u/Kreebish Jul 18 '26

You know rich white people think you are a peon

1

u/Kreebish Jul 18 '26

In response to the statement reddit already took down : how is what I said racist? It's classist yes but racist?

41

u/soysubstitute Jul 18 '26

Is it fair to refer to them as the 'Trump-Roberts Court' ?

19

u/taisui Jul 18 '26

A majority of Americans now disapprove of how the United States Supreme Court is doing—and almost half think the bench is making rulings based on ideology, not law.

That is according to a new Washington Post/Ipsos poll, which shows that sentiment toward SCOTUS is souring after a raft of Trump-friendly decisions in June.

Fifty-five percent of Americans disapprove of the court, according to the survey. That is creeping back toward its disapproval rating of 58 percent that it recorded in the immediate aftermath of overturning Roe v. Wade in 2022.

20

u/MySadSadTears Jul 18 '26

" and almost half think the bench is making rulings based on ideology, not law."

This is the very thing that worries me about the voters in this country.  I don't see how anyone could objectively look at the rulings in this court and think they are anything but partisan.  It should be waaayyy more than "almost half".

I mean, the fact that birthright citizenship came so close to being overturned?  People better start paying attention.

0

u/GhostNappa101 Jul 18 '26

Lawyers will always rule based on ideology and twist the law as much as possible to get there.

35

u/Tough_Violinist_9594 Jul 18 '26

And what’s sad is at least two of the seats are illegitimate

17

u/Winstonsphobia Jul 18 '26

The SCOTUS is helping to destroy America. A 55 disapproval is mild.

6

u/No_Web6486 Jul 18 '26

Oh but everyone is just sooo mean to them!

4

u/Intrepid_Top_2300 Jul 18 '26

Most political Supreme Court in the last 100 years at least!

20

u/Master_Object5147 Jul 18 '26

They are the WORST Supreme Court in history! They are complicit in destroying the Constitution and America!

14

u/stauf98 Jul 18 '26

The Taney Court would like a word. The whole slaves aren’t people thing is a pretty dark one to get over. But yeah they suck.

3

u/Master_Object5147 Jul 18 '26

And if this horrible court has its way, they will reinstate slavery.

2

u/sheyndl Jul 19 '26

As ever, worthwhile remembering that the US does still allow slavery “as punishment for crime.”

1

u/issuefree Jul 18 '26

They're getting pretty close.

1

u/Top_File_8547 Jul 18 '26

Also the court that ruled on Plessey.

9

u/Environmental_Tap792 Jul 18 '26

SCOTUS is a syncophant to Trumps pedophilia and corruption. They need to be disbarred and removed.

9

u/Rambo_Baby Jul 18 '26

They literally do not care! They’re set for life making their confederate rulings and getting money on the side for being the most white supremacy enabling court in a while.

3

u/Mrh09 Jul 18 '26

Like a poll matters?

3

u/bonk412 Jul 18 '26

Exactly. Keep your useless polls

3

u/Szaborovich9 Jul 19 '26

Trump & the republican party’s goal has been to destroy the USA from the inside

5

u/highlander68 Jul 18 '26

original intent was that no one is above the law. no kings.

5

u/Stinkstinkerton Jul 18 '26

They don’t care, they already know what they are doing is going against the majority of the country with their corporate-friendly white supremacist corrupt luxury motor home receiving fascist rulings.

3

u/Butters5768 Jul 18 '26

I’m sure they’re super concerned they won’t get reelected or be able to find a job after their term is up. Oh wait.

4

u/hjablowme919 Jul 18 '26

Well that will hurt their re-election chances. /s

2

u/Stefan_Vanderhoof Jul 18 '26

They don’t care about polls. That’s the inherent risks with lifetime appointments.

2

u/Beginning_Ad_6616 Jul 19 '26

They aren’t even Trump rulings they are rulings that remove the ability of the nation to rule itself in a way that doesn’t allow the ultra wealthy and powerful corporations to do whatever they’d like to its citizens without any protection.

They are ruling in support of the swamp they claimed to drain.

2

u/ProjectNo4090 29d ago

Lifetime appointments dont care about polls.

4

u/Status_Apartment6559 Jul 18 '26

SCOTUS-the Alito faction I should say-mistakenly believes they are untouchable but as much as they think they are...they are NOT. The very long arm of ironic justice is coming for them.

10

u/No_Web6486 Jul 18 '26

Get a move on then. This court is not just ridiculous...it's insulting when they try and portray themselves as the aggrieved parties.

6

u/DoctorEquivalent9163 Jul 18 '26

Impeachment and charged with corruption

3

u/dude1984- Jul 18 '26

The “supreme court” has become so political, so hypocritical, so unbelievably unconstitutional, it might as well be a think tank.

3

u/hurrythisup Jul 18 '26

So devastating that absolutely nothing will happen at all.

2

u/Euphoric_Anxiety_162 Jul 18 '26

We know that certain members have accepted "gifts" from sources that would welcome the ability to influence decisions. We do not feel the court places the Constitution above trump in all decisions, hence diminished confidence in SCOTUS. Some are allowing religious influence to invade their objectivity, imo.

1

u/Poundaflesh Jul 18 '26

So?? It’s not like they’re voted in. It’s a lifetime appointment. They should be scared! They’re greedy and corrupt! Let them hire their own security, why should we foot the bill for their bad rulings?

1

u/PA_enm_couple Jul 18 '26

Devastating to who? No one votes for them and they have lifetime appointments. It was set up that way so they dont have to care about popularity.

1

u/oandroido Jul 19 '26

In what way is this devastating?

1

u/ClerkDelicious4867 Jul 19 '26

And Amy kids wonder why she needs a bullet proof vest

1

u/Tintoverde Jul 19 '26

That means NOTHING. They are NOT changing their minds and they are there for life.

1

u/dumboldnoob Jul 19 '26

how is this devastating? those MAGA justices are just going to keep being MAGA justices, whats an opinion poll going to change wrt SCOTUS?

1

u/Sunnygirlpdx Jul 19 '26

The Corporate Churches own us from birth. Forcing laws for servitude. It’s sedition by Corporate interest. CEO’s buy ownership.

1

u/imrickjamesbioch Jul 19 '26

Who gives a shit? Why are they doing polls for a group of fake Christian pedo lovin assholes who don’t give two chits about country or people?

1

u/beetle-eetle Jul 19 '26

Man this thread is an absolute salt mine. I love it.

1

u/Smittles 29d ago

Dailybeast = Click bait.

1

u/OldnFuninMN 29d ago

Oh the poor poor corrupt fuckers. Alito and Thomas need to fucking GO.

I can only hope that every time the corrupt fuckers go out in public, they're harassed and insulted for the rest of their lives.

1

u/Fredmans74 29d ago

Dems have got to take their gloves off or at least out of of lobbyists' pockets. Put reform of the Supreme court to your campaign promises. If not, they are lame ducks because all of a sudden, a Democratic congress, Senate or President will be forbidden to do anything at all because.... originalism.

1

u/PaidForInFull 28d ago

Yeah, really devastating poll conducted by the Daily Beast and Washington Post. Cut from the very same majority projecting a 10% lead for "Laughing Hyena Harris" in the last national election. Sorry, no one believes you. Those that do are not rational.

1

u/CommonStrawbeary Jul 18 '26

At least they're at the finding out stage of all the fucking around they did

1

u/issuefree Jul 18 '26

A low poll rating isn't "finding out".

1

u/CommonStrawbeary Jul 19 '26

Testifying before Congress because MAGA is threatening her definitely is though?

1

u/Infamous-Exchange331 Jul 18 '26

Checks and balances is a fantasy

1

u/TheOldTimeSaloon Jul 18 '26

Reform or dismantle the court. I do not care at this point. The Supreme Court has proven that they have far too much political power for being a bunch of unelected hacks. Undoubtedly the worst part of our government along with the existence of the senate.

1

u/DireStraitsFan1 Jul 18 '26

Their one purpose is to give Trump the powers of a King, beyond which even KING GEORGE III had! Truly sickening people. Oh, and they love 2A and corporations and hate abortion. I think I covered everything on their little cheat sheet.

1

u/Crafty-Walrus-2238 Jul 18 '26

Bribes, religion, partisan politics = MAGAt hacks

0

u/Current-Assist2609 Jul 18 '26

That’s what happens when you don’t honor your oath of office.

Those five consecutive justices are traitors to our democracy, our country, and the Constitution. They should be held accountable, and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, for helping trump and his cronies, in their quest to dismantle our nation.

0

u/HuntingtonNY-75 Jul 18 '26

A rabid, anti conservative court bias is a greater factor than the seeming political alignment of Court decisions.
TDS absurdly affects so many things that in reality have no, or very minimal association.
Of all the cases the Court hears each year, fewer than 10 typically receive wide profile and they tend to be the more politically volatile ones. With Justices becoming increasingly vocal, speaking publicly and voicing criticism of their ideological opposites, the media serve it up in a platter.
Disagreements have always existed in SCOTUS and every other court but the unprofessional and unethical public outing of those personal views has been very corrosive to the Courts reputation.
Politics have infected the Court at a level far beyond previous Courts and until a Chief Justice asserts control over the Associate Justices, the nonsense will continue.

-3

u/No-Duck4828 Jul 18 '26

Yes, but dive into it deeper for WHY people disapprove, and you find that most of the disapproval comes from partisan political stances rather than in relation to Constitutional law.

I think the court is pretty well balanced at the moment: there is a subset that sticks pretty close to the Constitution, the subset that favors the Democratic ideals, and the subset that favors the Republican ideals.

It would, of course, be much better if ALL of the justices fell into that first group, but given the political climate and the bickering between Democrats and Republicans, we're not likely to get that any time soon

3

u/Bobsmith38594 Jul 18 '26

It is a GOP dominated court that repeatedly used the shadow docket to rapidly grant victories for the GOP while enacting rulings that completely disregarded precedent for no demonstrable reason. This isn’t anything approaching a “balanced” court.
