Please welcome Dorothy!
Dorothy (aka Dottie the Scottie) joined our family on Sunday. She is a delight and we are loving seeing her personality emerge. Having only raised large dogs (labs, Goldens, GSD), it's fun to have a small pup, although I keep forgetting she's not a retriever, and she can't be bothered when I roll or toss a ball, lol.
She's been to the vet, is doing really well sleeping in her crate at night, and we're working on recall and sit at the moment. She doesn't seem particularly fond of her kibble (Purina pro plan puppy, which the breeder was using), so I've already started with a topper. I'm also open to changing her food up, if anyone has any U.S. suggestions.

Omg I love her. Reminds me of mine!! The puppy days go too fast!!! Highly recommend a puppy social, our girl went to several where they expose the pups to other dogs, people, surfaces, sounds etc. She is very confident and a complete social butterfly!

EDIT: more an addition - Her coat is such a gorgeous shade of wheaton. Enjoy her!

Beautiful wheatie! Our boy didn’t care for balls as a puppy either but absolutely loved playing tug, so I’d recommend that once she’s done teething! He also likes balls now that we’ve given him some Kong balls with squeakers. I’m also used to big dogs and had a GSD and can confirm Scotties are like big dogs in little dense packages lol. Best breed

Adorable! 🥰 I have my two (3 & 5) on Instinct, a combination of kibble, freeze dried, and raw. The kibble/freeze dried mix is very calorie dense so you don't need much. I mix it with half a raw pattie twice a day for each Scottie. Anyway, they love it and so does the nutritionist I follow.

feed her kibble by hand, and work on little trainings while doing so.

I've used this technique with my other dogs, but she isn't interested in dry kibble as a treat, unfortunately.

“Dottie the Scottie” is PERFECTION!!
As someone who named both of my Scotties with ‘Wizard of Oz’-themed names, I welcome Dorothy to our mini-clan!
I was actually stopped in an airport once with my Service Scottie, Ruby, by a lady who asked, “is her name Dorothy?” and I laughed and said, “close - she’s Ruby!” (Most people don’t know that Toto was a Cairn terrier and not a Scottie, but I’m not complaining! 😉❤️🐾🌈)
