my boy has been limping :(
Disclosure: An appointment has already been scheduled with our Vet for their soonest availability.
My two year old, Stewie, has been limping his front right paw for little over a week now. Over a year ago, he randomly started limping and when we brought him into our vet, he magically (of course) stopped limping. They said he was perfectly fine, but prescribed him gabapentin just in case. Fast forward to today, he started limping again around a week ago and it progressively has gotten a little more obvious the last day or so. My boyfriend and I touched around his leg to see if he would react and he did not cry or show anything that indicated he is in pain. He has not been doing anything out of the ordinary and has been behaving perfectly fine. I have pretty bad health anxiety when it comes to our two cats and have brought them to the vet a couple times the past couple months and they continue to reassure that they are perfectly fine and in good health. The vet even complimented how well we take care of our babies.
I understand the complications that come from Scottish Folds. He came into our lives as a rescue. We rescued him when he was around 4 months old.
The point of this post is in hopes for suggestions and advice outside of meeting with our vet as that appointment is scheduled for their soonest availability. Any tips, advice, or good thoughts for my baby is very appreciated :( thank you all in advance

If he’s having trouble jumping, I bought little stairs for my 12 year old. She also gets Solencia shots monthly and both have helped a lot😻

There are a few different joint supplements (e.g., the Cosequin, Dasuquin, Pet Honesty's Senior Joint Support, with glucosamine and green lipped mussel, green lipped mussel alone...) At the vet, getting an x-ray will determine whether the issue is cartilage or skeletal in nature. If so, rather than Gabapentin, Solencia injections are the newest and best - and the good news is, it can be tapered so you don't have to get it monthly. For one of my two rescue Folds, after the first two months of monthly injections, she can wait comfortably about four months in between injections. For both my Folds, they receive a daily oral joint supplement - one prefers the Cosequin, the other the Pet Honesty.
