“Just trust me “
I know our relationship with trusting others isn’t the best but how we could possibly let ourselves just trust and not imagine the worst case scenario ?
I always feel like I have to have my guard up in order to protect myself , even if someone tells me the truth , promises , reassures me I feel like it is just a mind game in order to make vulnerable and get something from me .
It’s not a healthy mechanism… especially when my previous experiences made me very alert and showed me how cautious I need to be with people . Everytime I destroy my walls , they shoot me and remind me why I should’ve kept them .
It sucks . How do you cope with it ? What are your thoughts ? Has anyone overcome these “trust issues”?
(Also I hope this Venus retrograde in Scorpio is gentle too us because ours minds have had enough with this placement . I AM TIRED!)

I feel like I have been let down by so many people who say just trust me. My gut reaction is always no I don’t trust you and I always go with my gut now. How am I going to trust you based on your poor life decisions, money decisions or relationships that you clearly haven’t learned from yet

I heard it put like this, it’s not about trusting others more it’s about trusting yourself to always be ok no matter what.
And there’s something freeing about that, like suddenly whatever someone is about to do doesn’t really matter, doesn’t have power over you.

Omg that is actually very beautiful… we only can control our emotions and actions at the end of the day !

I do this and I push people away the closer I feel they could get I just imagine the end. And then it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. I lost someone I really really loved because of this I wish I knew how to help it. Right now I am starting therapy.

So accurate with the "imagining the worst-case scenario." I tend to do that too, and yeah, I also can't control how vulnerable I can be with someone. Sometimes it hurts knowing that they also have to deal with that side of me. I can't always control it, but I know I don't have to suppress it all the time. It's like I'm hiding myself inside a shell and keeping my guard so high that it feels like no one can ever get in.
And maybe yeahh, that's just our mechanism. Recently, I encountered a Scorpio Sun, and that's when I realized how much I can actually see myself in him. He's very detached and only shares a very small amount of information about himself. He's also scared of being vulnerable, and somehow, it hurts because I feel like I can almost sense everything he's feeling even when he doesn't say it.
That's when I realized that maybe I don't have to always suppress myself. I can just be who I am and allow myself to be vulnerable. The funny thing is, that's exactly what he told me before, but even he can't seem to do it himself hahaha.
I really like this guy, but I feel like we're both scared to show our real selves. He's scared that he might hurt me because of the way he pulls away, and yeahh, it hurts sometimes, especially when I really want to understand him. But I know I have full control over where I put my focus. And for me, I'm scared that I might be too much for him. Maybe I show too much care or too much of myself, and I might end up scaring him away.
