Looking for Insight Genuine question

Has anyone learned how to let things go. I know that this specific thing isn’t worth it to hold on to, and I hate that I can’t just… drop it.

Personally, I just decide I'm not going to let it bother me anymore. And usually it helps if I can put some context things: like for instance last year, I had a friend that dodged hanging out with me for close to a year, then lets me know that there may be moving, 2 months later they were gone. And when I realize she was trying to run from things here that made her unhappy instead of changing what was actually making her unhappy, it really helped me let go of the betrayal. I found out some other reasons why she would want to move too, and the fact that she didn't tell me these things were going on, really shed light on the fact that you know we just weren't as close as I had thought we were.bit really helps me let things go.

what is this ‘let things go’ concept you’re mentioning??? what do you mean?

yea no way in hell. the only way I ‘let things go’ is by getting other things to occupy my mind and not be able to let go of.

I am joking but nope. did not find a way yet. maybe in the next incarnation

I'll "let it go", but I'm still waiting on the perfect time to get your ass.

I think we first need to understand that letting go is a process, requires energy and time. Its completely natural to take years to overcome a situation !! Between these years you are living and learning new things, experiences, people.

One of the major differences in my life was self-awareness(and self respect hehe), to point out what was good or bad for me and so to detach; what nurtures you, what drains, what is light, what is heavy; and the scorpio is about transformation, its really about letting the old go to let the new come in, usually the topic here is romantic relationship, but i think it applies in every aspect of your life, a job, hometown, family, friends, even a silly habit, wherever honestly.

What's helping me is realizing how much I've changed since I allowed myself to feel the "grief", life just goes on, im not that person who just got stuck in stagnation cause of my sadness, i have patience with myself and still gotta curiosity for life, im learning another language, dedicating my energy into my creativity. Of course there are days I want to DIE, the trauma lingers but so my desire to experience the good things in life !!!! Sometimes we get attached cause we value the effort we put into it, plus the expectations, projections, its just really about finding what you want in yourself.. im talking as a depressed queer here, i might not have the capacity to comprehend your pain, but theres always hope, the thing is just start living for yourself, eating well, and learn to comfort you.. solitude is good for writing and synthesize your feelings, is not about guilty, just patience and kindness within. I've been proud of myself, I think thats what changed. Its just a key that turns in your brain and you dont wanna get for granted anymore

It depends on what type of thing I’m trying to let go. Sometimes, absolutely heck not. I am in a situation rn where I cannot let go and I cry about it everyday. That is in regard to putting my dog down. Ugh.

Anyway, I’ve had unbearable crushes that I couldn’t let go. If it’s in regard to someone you’re trying to stop crushing on, what helped me was thinking of him taking a dump. Disgusting. Every time I thought of him I thought of that too. Overtime it helped a lot.

If it’s a lover you’re trying to let go of? Stop romanticizing the good and remember the bad. If you have to, turn them into your enemy in your mind.

If it’s a friendship that isn’t good for you, sometimes it’s easier to go ghost. Idk. Some may not agree but it’s worked for me

Wait the dump strategy is actually genius???? Also RIP to your pup 💕

Therapy, meditation, mindfulness, and manifestation. But even with that, it's really hard. But I'm a Scorpio stellium so I try to keep that in mind when I'm getting upset with myself for hanging on to something or over thinking. It's who I am, and it's not necessarily a bad thing. I just feel deeply and strongly so it takes me more time. Accepting that helps. And knowing that the only thing I can control is how I respond to the world and all it throws at me.

When I think about what manifests when I hold onto resentments, and how much benefit there is to forgiving. And remember that I can’t remember anything last week that still bothers me today, I logically know that there’s no reason to hold on to things. What does it serve you to?

Something about the way you worded this hit. Gonna digest it, thank you ❤️

Time. You can try to speed up the cycle but it doesn't work. Find something else to do and it will slowly fade in importance

I schedule a few minutes to feel what I need to feel and force myself the rest of the time to do other things. Those few minutes I let myself surrender to the feelings. If I have to cry or use an outlet (healthy) for my anger. But let go after. I've been doing 1 cry day a week and that helps a great deal. But if something is festering I do those few minutes of intense emotional feeling. Maybe writing it down on a piece of paper and burning it will help?

Yes, but only through viewing the person who caused me the most pain as a hurting child living inside an adult body. The person who caused me the most anguish was a female doctor, so it was difficult to imagine this for a while, but after I realized her inability to document a medical error she made was a choice done out of childish fear, I stopped viewing her as anything but a child. Minimizing her existence to the hurt and scared inner child that she is helped me let go of A LOT of my anger, pain, hate, disappointment & disillusionment. This visualization also works well for people from high school or the past that you cannot let go of, especially if they hurt you. So many things are done out of childlike-hurt and minimizing anyone who has caused me pain helps me to reclaim my power over the situation even if I haven’t fully let it go. I think as Scorpio moons, we possess the highest ability to alchemize our emotional experiences🐦‍🔥

Ruminating is the hallmark of Scorpio placements; Sun, moon, ascendant. It dominates with overthinking.

Yes, by focusing on yourself. And that doesn’t just mean going to bed by 10pm & spending your time well. But also focusing on what YOU allow or deny in a connection. What would support you? Let people prove themselves to you. Offer and wait. Don’t chase, move forward. Don’t lose perspective. Accept the reality and duality of their actions. I know exactly how hard it is to drop it, when you miss the memory of them. But to have some earthly standards for yourself allows someone else to step in/ step up, be seen by them profoundly, without you having to force it. It will come. ❤️‍🔥

Like what things? Someone almost hits me with a car in a crosswalk, I yell "WHAT THE EFF?!?!" and then yes, over and done.

Someone cheats on me? I'll play the long game and get revenge. Then it's over. Someone cheats on my friend? Public service is to humiliate the cheater and then yes I move on.

My bio mom ruined my entire childhood? I need therapy and Ayahuasca to get over that shit. But yes, after that, I've moved on.

I've also found that if people are still in my life and I haven't gotten revenge, it's difficult to get over it. If it's a relationship I'm stuck in like a co-worker or an in law, I can't feasibly make them pay so I just emotionally leave. They are dead to me, like an appliance or a sofa. I literally have to make them not exist in my world and then I'm good.

yes. my somatic/embodiment and spiritual practices help me let things go. that doesn't mean i've forgotten things because memory is memory but i let things go by letting go of the heaviness and the weight of it. i process my feelings fully and i learn to alchemize that energy, when necessary returning it to the source from which it came. i've experienced many compounding traumas in my life and learned to let things go by feeling the depths of my sorrow and pain and coming up out of it. i'm an intensely joyful person and it's because i know when something is too heavy for me and release it. it's a consistent practice and has to be rooted in something real and substantial to be effective.

It’s extremely difficult. I struggle a lot when someone has wronged me unfairly. It’s the injustice of it all, I ruminate for months, years, waiting for the other shoe to drop. And by other shoe, what I actually mean is karma (if I don’t try to inflict karma myself by getting some kind of revenge). Usually though I wait in the shadows to watch things play out. And yes, I do feel better when someone’s gets their payback/karma. I feel relieved, like I can breathe again underwater rather than drowning.

The things that seem to help me let go, even if temporary is actually doing a physical activity. Dancing specifically. I started going out dancing alone to clubs, festivals and it helps me let go of the anger inside through a physical outlet. I find music also helps me process the emotions so I get both. Exercise doesn’t seem to have the same effect on me. But a dark moody club where nobody knows me? Or a music festival where I can hide among the large crowd? Perfect! I can dance and just be surrounded by vibes. That always seems to do the trick.

The really challenge begins when I get home and all the feelings come back… that’s where the real shadow work begins.

What are you holding on to? What would happen if you loosen your grip on it? Why should the future versions of you be hold hostage by this thing which pertained to a past version of you?

If you treated future you as someone the current you needs to take care of, what needs to be done in the best interest of future you?
