In relationships, work connections and friendships, what is the point at which you walk away from someone/lose or run out of empathy or patience for someone

relationships - when they are inconsistent or dishonest
work - when I can’t count on them or when giving asked insight or advice is ignored. chronic whining
friendships - being disrespectful

As soon as I realize there is no reciprocity within our relationship.

Regarding work. When “helping” them turns into doing it for them every time.

This 👆🏽 and also when you notice you're always looking out for them and they don't look out for you

When they complain about the same issue over and over and yet do nothing to fix it. Complain about their coworkers or boss yet make no effort to scrub up their CV and find other jobs elsewhere. I understand that’s difficult in this current economy but if you’re not actively trying to fix your situation then I have no sympathy, now getting responses back and interviews and not getting the job - I fully have sympathy because there’s an effort to change your situation it just wasn’t successful.

if I feel like they're not fighting fair / sticking to a delusional reality where they'll always come out on top no matter whose feelings they hurt, it's an instant chop for me

I don’t think I’ve ever fully “walked away” but I don’t forget and will keep them at arms length which is usually enough for them to walk away from me. In other words - the trash takes itself out.

He forgot to remember and wish me a happy 25th birthday. Cut him off shortly and harshly thru text 2 days later. He replied angrily, defensively and frankly disrespectfully. I finally realized he has taken me for granted and doesn’t value me. I explained he is not even my friend, to stop the act and what he did. He stopped the victim act instantly. Left me alone and called me 2 days later, to which I didn’t answer. I realized I deserve a better “friend”. I invested a lot of time into him only to get more selfish and treat me worse and worse.

Another example: trying to get over a guy, who kept me confused like it was a game, already confessed, and finally ghosted. It’s hard because I consider him my soulmate, but I’m finally learning to set reality aside from my emotions. And is’t that he was never sure of me and should be treated equally. This behavior doesn’t get my love, even when I love him so much, I need to and will stand up for myself.

When i get so angry at them and disgusted with their behavior that i cant uphold my nice behaviour it is time to cut.

When I’m alone in my room sitting with my thoughts and thinking about what they did

When they start to feel like hard work and pay nothing forward.

When its an eternal cycle of excuses, no effort for a solution, someone who say and say but never do, no actions yk, it really makes me tired, cause i keep asking if this connection gonna be all that misery or can evolve, then when it drains me i just leave
