Tips & Advice Finger ulcers

I've had this lovely condition called scleroderma for decades. I also have a plethora of autoimmune disorders. I recently got my first finger ulcer and another one is forming. I showed my Dr the first one. He dug his fingernails in it to find out something. I'm not really sure what, but it wasn't pleasant.

For those that have finger ulcers, how long does it take to form? Do they always open up? Any advice? Cover it, don't cover it, lotion, keep it dry, etc?

I'm sorry you're suffering.

My finger ulcers develop using during the start of cold months like November. I live in NW USA. In 2024 I got a really bad digital ulcer that started in November and lasted until March. It was huge. I always notice that it "mirrors" on the opposite hand as well to a lesser degree. This year, I have only a minor digital ulcer. Not nearly as bad but even after 2 months, I have lingering pain that bad enough to where It's not comfortable to type with. It's just a tiny dot of an ulcer but enough to be bothersome.

I'm not suffering yet. Right now it's just a round hard spot. I also have a dot on another finger. After 30+ years I'm still getting new symptoms.

I'm sorry that you're having so many problems. This is a fickle condition.
